Fox and Zash shot from the past THE SECOND (not a direct sequal to the first)

Zash stood on the roof of his school the classes had ended not long ago but he didn't feel like leaving he yawned and looked out at his town. He rubbed at his right cheek where a bruise was, he'd gotten in a fight early that day. He watched as the kids from his school flooded out and raced out to there homes. Zash looked at his hands at flames blossomed and danced around them he'd kept his fire magic hidden from them after all he was a pyromancer, the one and only pyromancer it would look strange if he just started spawning fire balls.

Zash tugged at his collar. " Nah it's all cool." He dismissed the situation not like it had done anything to Zash's image beside give Fox a good laugh." besides aren't we almost to the cliff?" Zash asked. he sounded excited now the dress incident forgotten.

"Yeah, almost! Just a short trek thataway and BAM there's a cliff." Fox agreed, getting caught up in Zash's excitement. She couldn't help but wonder what was so special about a random cliff all of a sudden.

Zash hurried up now." That cliff's the land mark." Zash started to explain. He pointed to the sun. " In the past they said that a pyromancer threw the sun into the sky, this was back when there were a ton of them." Zash sounded happy retelling a story he'd heard many times and read for himself. " A man named Shelrek was given the credit for the legend, but no one ever knew where he did it?" Zash continued. " But when you think about forming a fire ball the size of the sun would cause a mass updraft of hot air and a huge rush of cool air blasting downwards that's how the cliff was formed, the hot air pushed up the cliff and the cold air pushed down the bottom of it." Zash finished and he stopped as they reached the cliff. " We need to get down there." Zash pointed but even he couldn't jump that height.

"Okay then, let's go!" Fox exclaimed. She got a running start and then jumped right off the cliff, not even thinking about the consequences at that moment.

Zash's heart beat in his ears he could hear as fox jumped off, Really?! I couldn't even do that !! Zash started to freak he jumped too but he calmed down he realized he could use the same princeapal as when he jumped off the roof at school. He made a large fire at the bottom of the cliff and an updraft of hot air quick flipped Zash head over heels and landed him on his back. Dang I forgot the fact that a high jump and bigger fire makes you flip more Zash realized in hiensight.

Fox felt like she was lighter than air. The feeling of free-falling was amazing. As she neared the bottom she transmuted a large patch of bushes once again, much larger than the one at school. She landed softly and hopped to her feet. "So, what are we looking for?" Fox asked cheerily.

Zash stood up and dismissed his fire, along with padding the dirt away from his back which was a white shirt meaning it was going to keep the brown dirt but ooh well he'd just wear his black jacket for the rest of his school life. Zash stood up. " Well we're looking for something that was lost several thousands of years ago and hasn't been found but then again no one's really been looking for it." Zash answered. Zash looked up at the sun and made the magic box with his fingers and then swung it down to a place on the ground. " If you were hiding the most valued object in all pryomancer history where would you hide it?" Zash asked like a casual question.

"In a sepparate dimension, if they're doing things right." Fox replied. "Or in a complex set of chambers in some old dude's grave if it's a Nicholas Cage movie." she added.

"Nicholas Cage movie style" Zash decided and snapped his fingers a circle of fire appeared on the ground about 2 meters in diameter . " mind transmuting away three feet of dirt." Zash asked Fox.

"With pleasure." Fox said as she stepped up to the circle of fire. She clapped her hands and touched the ground within the circle, and VOOM there went the dirt.

" Thank you!" Zash waved a hand and the fire dismissed itself. Zash squatted down next to the hole he looked at Fox. " Hey no alchemy down here okay. If you transmute anything it may throw off the entire clue down here." Zash said warning her. " Promise me okay?"

"I swear on my grave." Fox answered seriously. "So, what is this clue we're looking for, exactly?" she asked Zash as she peered down the whole she had created.

" Well the thing we're looking for is Phlem's ring, and Phlem was real close to that guy Shelrek so I guessed he'd leave a clue to it here, I don't know exactly what we're looking for but it'd have to be here." Zash said and jumped down and he realized he didn't know how far down the ground was, He didn't know where to make his fire to soft his landing like before. He'd need a new trick now. His heart beet sped up as he started to freak as he fell it had only been a millisecond but he still was worried about hitting the ground. Wait no it's easy! Zash realized as he spawned fires he flipped himself to stand up right using the hot air rushing upwards then he spawned a fire below him and spread his arms wide so it would keep him suspended in the air.

Fox, instead of haphazardly jumping down like she normally would, climbed down the wall of the hole using roots and footholds in the wall. It took her a little while, but her feet finally touched the ground at the bottom of the hole.

Zash noticing that Fox had hit the ground looked how far down she was compared to himself she was only about a inch or two, Zash realized how close he had been to breaking his legs. he dismissed the fire all at once and the ground instantly hit his feet he was breathing heavy even thou that should have been easy in fact it had been, but the adrenile rush of almost dieing had made him feel like he wasted a ton of energy. " remind me NEVER to do that again!" Zash told Fox fear obviosuly in his voice.

"You got it!" Fox laughed. "So, what now?"

Zash got himself standing normally making sure both his feet were on the ground." Now I hit the lights." Zash said and with a wave of his hand braziers all over the room lit up and it was revealed that they were in a sandstone coridoor the ceiling had been eroded away so the only thing above them was dirt which often let lumbs of it fall. The hall way itself had a very regal and important feel to it as pillars lined it and faded painting were on the walls.

"Holy elemental plaes of Arceus, where are we?" Fox asked in awe as she looked around.

" Well after Shelrek threw up the sun they made a temple in his honor it was forgotten after the fall of pryomancy and I guess the earth just grew over it." Zash said looking at the faded paintings and hyrogliffs He started walking down the path more torches lightening up as he walked slowly soaking in this lineage left from he past.

Fox wanted to brush some of the dust off the walls and get a better veiw of everything, but what Zash had said about her alchemy still rang in her head and she decided to keep her hands to herself. "Anything particular that we should be looking for?" she asked Zash.

" Well considering Shelreck and Phlem were very close friends I'd assume he's leave a clue or something to find where his ring be." He said almost absent mindly the paintings as faded as they were, Zash considered far more valuable then the ring. He turned and looked on wards to the hall a door stood at the far end. " I'd say if he left the clue anywhere it'd be in a main chamber and it'd have something off putting something that didn't fit." Zash reasoned.

'So like, something written in some ancient language or some shizz?" Fox questioned, thoroughly interested in this odd temple. She wondered if her knowlage of old languages would be of any use, because she knew quite a few thanks to her alchemic research.

" probably not Phlem couldn't read or write." Zash answered. " He also couldn't speak fluently in any language at that " Zash laughed and was about to go on with his thought but stopped he'd go on rambling about Phlem all day if he did. Zash placed his foot on the door. " One thing he was good at thou was architecture" He said as he kicked open the door.
In the middle of the large marble domed roof room was a statue it was of a man with huge wings that stopped half way as thou they had been ripped off the man was dressed in a greek toga with a hand extended towards what was above them which was a depiction on the wall of the sun. Seven gray cobble stone columns reached up the glass dome roof. " wow." Zash sounded astounded he looked around the entirety of the walls were covered with colorful full scale carvings of colorful scenes in pyromancey history untouched and still full and not faded. Zash walked his legs felt like lead his chest was heavy, all his life he'd wanted to find something anything to at all about the past of his art being the last of such a great art sucked he wanted to find his legacy and this this felt like the first step. He stood right below the mass statue of the winged man he placed a hand on the pedastal it stood on it was smooth cold to the touch.

"HOLY ROYAL THRONE OF ARCEUS." Fox exclaimed as they entered the room with the marble statue. She didn't say anything more after that, the just stood with her mouth agape and stared wide-eyed at her surroundings.

Zash turned in a full circle and stopped facing Fox he was frowning now thou he wasn't looking at Fox he was looking up at the sun carving in the wall that the winged statue was reaching to. " That doesn't make sense." Zash shook his head he looked at the man's face it was a image of pure tortured pain tear were carved into the marble at his eyes." It's all wrong." Zash furrowed his brow it didn't make sense.
