An Awkward Confrontation

Dylan walked into the park, he could hear kids playing on a nearby playground and their parents talking about recent events. Probably something that he just did with Hydra (His and Axinelds company), but that didn't concern him. He was looking for Mia, he had something to show her.

"Well, I went dress shopping (boy, THAT was an adventure in itself), practiced with my new technique, played a few pranks around the city..."she grinned micheviously at the last thing she said. "Just the normal things I do when I have free time." she smiled. The city was like a blank canvas to her as well as her home, always having something new to do.

"Hm, glad you had fun." Dylan said, "I would tell you what I did, but I don't want to bore you with business talk. And hopefully that won't happen tonight."

"It's alright, I'm not to scared of a few buisness discussions." Mia responded. "I've fought Gails, street gangs, and worst of all, angry New Yorkers. I think I can handle a few buisness people." she grinned mischeviously again, without any idea what was really going to happen at the party that night.

"Oh, I have no idea that you can handle the talk. I am just worried about you getting bored from the talk." Dylan said. He then sat up straight and his face brightened, "I mean its happened to me bfeore. Cause one time I was at..." Dylan trails off telling his story.

Mia listened as Dylan told his story.

As the limo pulled up to the event Dylan opened the door and walked out first, he then held the door for Mia. The two had talked the entire ride.

Mia stepped out after Dylan, pulling on her evil high-heeled shoes after her feet hit the cold sidewalk. "I think I could pull of going barefoot, if only this dress was just a tad longer...." she mumbled to herself, getting used to walking with the stupid things again.

"Heh, well don't worry. Just do what you want." Once Mia was out and Dylan closed the door the limo pulled away from the building. He then held out his arm so that he could "properly" escort Mia into the building. "So, shall we?"

"Here goes nothing..." Mia thought to herself as she took Dylan's arm. She put on a brave face and smiled at him. "You bet, let's go!' she said to him, using him for support a little so to not fall down any stairs or anything.

"Hm, great." Dylan lead the way into the building. Once they were inside, Dylan showed someone a pass and they were showed to their seat. "Okay, so the music might not be either of our first choices," there was a small orchestra playing, "but lets hope that the food is okay." Dylan continued.

"I'm sure it won't be too bad." Mia smiled, starting to lose that nervous edge. "Well, so far so good.... I mean, no one has asked where I live or where I'm from yet...." she thought to herself as she took a quick look around. the place.

"Well, I hope so. The problem is though if it is exotic or not." Dylan looked around,"I hope nobody makes Mia feels uncomfortable. If they do, I will destroy their business." He spotted a few people that were looking at the two of them, they would come talk to them soon enough, everyone just loved to talk to the 18 year old VP of the largest airline company in the world, especially since he brought a date for once.

"Uh... hey, are you okay?" Mia asked Dylan, noticing him glaring around the room at people. "You're not mad or anything... are you?" she added, seriouisly hoping he wasn't.

"No, no, its just that..." Dylan calmed down, "I just want this night to be perfect. And these business moguls have a knack of making sure that doesn't happen." A couple walks over, "and here comes round one of the night." he says before they reach them. He stands up to greet them, "Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson nice to see you again."((No they arent related to Thomas JeffersonXD)) "Nice to see you too Dylan," Mr Jefferson says as he shakes Dylan's hand, "and who is this?" he asks indicating Mia. "Oh, this is my date for the evening, Mia." Dylan replies.

"Hi there." Mia smiled and waved polietly, trying not to look too outlandish. She sat up a little straighter when they arrived at the table and gave her best to look a little more... dignified than normal.

"Would you mind if we sat with you?" Mr. Jefferson asked. "Sure, go ahead." Dylan responded, as he sat down he asked. "So how is the power business company coming along? I must say, your new generator has increased our facotries efficiency drastically." Mr. Jefferson and his wife sat down, "Things have been going good, we are going to be opening a new plant in..." him and Dylan continued into a conversation about their companies. Mrs. Jefferson decided to talk to Mia while they talked, "So were you dragged along to this event too?" she asked quietly.

"Ehh, sorta. I was..." Mia stopped what she was about to say, not wanting to mention her magic abilities. "Well, I was in the park seeing a play when Dylan invited me. I wanted to be here for him, so I came here." she smiled.

"Aw so sweet, wish I could say the same about my husband." she looks over at Mr. Jefferson and Dylan who are still talking away. "These events are all the same, but with a little sprinkle of uniqueness." She notices Mia's tatoos, "that is quite the tatoo you have there."

"Wha-?" Mia paniced, just now realizing that she wasn't wearing her jacket or any sleeves in general like she normally would to cover up her tattoos. "Oh, um thank you." she laughed, a tad nervously. " Why in the world didn't I think of this before?!? Stupid! Stupid! STUPID!!!" she thought to herself, hiding her panic under a smile.

"Hm, I wish I did something like that in my youth, but now I am a bit too old for that kind of thing." Mrs. Jefferson said. Meanwhile Dylan and Mr. Jefferson were still talking, "And you will never guess who actually came to the event tonight." Dylan replied, "Oh, really, who?" he asked. "Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln of Link Electronics." Mr. Jefferson said. "Really? They basically never come to any of these events." Dylan said as he looked at the other married couple. ((These are your parents XD obviously)) Mr. Jefferson leans over to his wife and asks if she would like to dance. "Would you excuse us." Mrs. Jefferson said as the two left the table. Dylan then looked at Mia, "Sorry about that." he said.

"It's no problem!" Mia smiled. The couple they had been talking about caught her eye, and she glanced over at them. "Something about them seems... Way to familiar...." she thought to hersef as a shadow began to cross her face, a clear sign that the wheels in her head were turning.

Dylan took no notice to Mia's thinking face ((haha thinking faceXD)), "Hey, do you mind going to dance?" he asked. He figured he was shooting in the dark.

"Ahhh..... hm?" Mia blinked, shooken out of her thoughts. "Oh! Yeah let's go. I need to clear my mind again." she laughed as she started to stand.

"Okay good," Dylan stood up as well and grabbed Mia's hand, "Maybe you could teach me how to dance."

"Probably not, I'm not too good at it myself." Mia laughed as Dylan led her onto the dance floor.
