Lost in the Shadows

Nightwhisper was off on a lone hunting patrol when she caught the sent of a small mouse. Well it's better then nothing. she thought as she went into a hunter's crouch. Slowly inching her way to the tiny creature as its ears twitched. She would have to be carfull not to scare it away.

The young kit tilted her head to the side as she listened to the leader's words. Raven glanced behind her at the entrance to the clan's camp, thinking about her own parents and family. She wondered why she was alone here in the first place...
Turning back to Duskstar, Raven smiled and just nodded, trying to answer that she would stay here and take up the leader's offer.

Nightwhisper watch the kit's actions. The kit looked at the enterance and back to the leader and nodded. "It would seem that she want to stay here. She's very observent for her age. Is it alright if I show her around, Duskstar?" the black she-cat asked.

Duskstar nodded with a tiny smile. "Yes, be sure she knows her way around. She'll be a clan cat in no time" And with that, the black furred she-cat padded over to a spot of light. With a small yawn escaping her mouth once more, she thought that perhaps a bit more sleep wasn't too bad of an idea.

Raven let another small smile grow on her face as she watched the leader pad over to the light spot and think about sleeping again. Despite being a young kit, she could help but think about how much nicer the lives of these clan cats were in comparison to her own.

Nightwhisper chuckled delighted that she could show the kit around. "Come along, Ravenkit. I'll show you the Nursery first." she said heading towards another den. Once at the Den inside were Queens that had already had kits or expecting kits. "This it where you'l be staying for the next 2 moons after that you'll be apointed to a Mentor. A Mentor will train you to become a Warrior. In training you'll be an Apprentice, and you'll be called "Ravenpaw". If you do really well then you'll become a Waorrior." the green-eyed she-cat explained.

Raven smiled as Nightwhisper lead her towards the place she called the 'Nursery'. The young kit peered in, taking note of its name and interior. Raven didn't want to disturb the queens and other kits though so she tried not to intrude very much.
Her blue eyes looked up at Nightwhisper as the she-cat explained the basic part of a Clan's hierarchy. She wondered what it was like to be a Warrior.. or even an Apprentice for that matter.

Nightwhisper chukled as she saw the look in the kits eyes. "You don't have to worry about becoming anything for now. Why don't you go play with some of the kits?" she asked giving the small bundle of fur a gentle push forward. "Evryone this is Ravenkit our newest member ot the Clan." she said softy not to disturbe any of the sleeping cat while some of them were awake.

Reluctantly, the young black furred kit was ushered forwards, further into the den. Her blue eyes looked almost fearfully at the other kits for a second before she seemed to calm down and think rationally.
She realized after a few seconds that Nightwhisper had called her Ravenkit. Did that mean she was already accepted as a member of this Clan?

petalkit heard a soft mew from outside the Nursery and looked up to see a new face that had not been there before. Looking beside the new kit she saw Nightwhisper. "Nightwhisper!" she gasped and pushed pass Ravenkit. "Did you have a good hunt?" she asked. She compleatly ignored the black kit but was too busey paying attention to the older cat.

Ravenkit didn't mind too much. In fact she'd rather not be noticed. No doubt being the newest cat in the Clan would make you quite the celebrity for a few days since other cats would be trying to judge you and find out what skills you could bring to the clan.
The kit's blue eyes wandered back outside of the den as she wondered where her parents could be right now. Ravenkit shook her head. No. She was going to be a part of ThistleClan now. If her parents wanted to leave her then so be it. She wouldn't wait for them.

Nightwhisper sighed at Petalkit's hyperness. "Petalkit this is Ravenkit. Ravenkit with be your new littermate for a while. Make her feel comfertable." she told the young kit. Look at me I sound like a Queen scolding her kit! she thought. Petalkit looked back at the new kit, "Oh no! I'm sorry! My name's Petalkit and my dream is to be the best Warrior ever. What's your dream?" the slightly older kit asked. Nightwhisper chukled at the kits and walked off to find a nice pach of sun to rest in.

Ravenkit just blinked at Petalkit's hyperness. She seemed to be rather energetic, even for a kit. Then again, Petalkit looked slightly older than she was so who was she to judge.
The black furred kit listened as Petalkit introduced herself and told her what her dream was.
She couldn't help but question the fact that wouldn't everykit's dream be to be the best Warrior ever. Or at least the best Warrior he or she could be.

Ravenkit just tilted her head to the side as Petalkit asked her what her dream was. In all honesty. She didn't have a clue.

"You don't talk much do you? Let's go play outside near the clearing. Come on!" Petalkit shouted as she raced over to the clearing. She went into a hunter's crouch and playfully growled. "What do you want to play?" she asked.

Ravenkit slowly followed Petalkit back out of the nursery and into the camp clearing. The black furred kit was able to run as much as she liked, she just preferred to go at a slower pace. It was from this that her ability to observe things to such small details was born.
At Petalkit's playful growl she twitched her tiny whiskers, shrugging as best as a cat could shrug.

Petalkit sat up and sighed, "There has to be something we can do." she said to herself and found a mossball near them. She raced over to it and batted it over to Ravenkit. She may be almost ready to be an apprentice but that didn't mean she couldn't have any fun.

Ravenkit tilted her head at the moss ball as Petalkit batted it towards her. Her curious blue eyes started at it for a second as it came to a stop at her paws before she smiled and batted it back.

Petalkit giggled as she leapt on the moss in order to stop it. "Good toss now try to catch this one." she said as she tossed the mossball into the air and batted it hard. It zoomed over Ravenkit's head heading for the Elder's den.

Ravenkit swiftly leaped after the moss ball, her speed along with her elegant movements showing beautifully as she ran. Despite being a kit, here was a sort of air about her that just cried out something more than that.
Ravenkit entered the Elder's den and quietly retrieved the moss ball. Luckily it hadn't caught some poor old cat's ear as it zoomed past.
Quickly, Ravenkit rolled the ball out of the den. She then stopped and prepared to hit it back to Petalkit. With one swift paw movement she sent the ball spinning towards the older kit.

IC: Petalkit stood with her mouth open at Ravenkit's speed and grace, "That was amazing!" she shouted but quickly caught site of the ball and quickly jumpped up and missed it. she chased it towards the enterence of the camp.

Ravenkit tilted her head at the seemingly random compliment. How had she managed to impress the kit she didn't seem to understand. However she shrugged it off and followed Petalkit towards the camp entrance as the older kit chased after the moss ball.

Petalkit managed to catch the mossball before it rolled into the thistle barrior. She picked up the moss and walked back over to the Nursurey when she looked up she noticed that the sun was starting to set. She put the mossball down and started to head back towards the den, "Come on Ravenkit, it's almost time for dinner." the energetic kit said before disappering into the den.

The jet black she-kit watched Petalkit fetch the ball and followed her friend back over to the Nursery. She noticed that Petalkit had glanced up at the sky. The position the sun was in must have had some influence in her decision to stop playing, so she decided to note this for later experiences.
Sun-down, she named it in her head.

Ravenkit tilted her head slightly at the mention of dinner, but it didn't take her long to follow Petalkit's footsteps, back into the den where it was warm and cosy.
