Vanilla Ribbons

Vanilla paced through Pecha Forest with ears alert for the slightest sound of a rescue team nearby. She had heard that someone was coming out on a mission to retrieve and item left in the Forest and eagerly awaited their arrival. Vanilla had been longing to snatch something yet again from an unsuspecting Pokemon. She cackled to herself as she thought of the last victim, a sweet Patrat who had only been trying to help her find a 'lost item.' Vanilla hummed a soft tune as she started to proceed to a perfect spot, it was near a clearing between the trees to reach a deeper area and climbed up the limbs of a mangled old tree.

"Come on rescue team, I'm not getting any younger. Cuter maybe, but not younger." She smirked to herself and kicked back to wait for them. Rayo wasn't with her this time, but she figured she could handle herself like she did before.

Rayo braced himself from the Ominos Wind. He growled softly, he took the oppertunity and leapt off of Prima's head and onto the Honchkrows back and used bug Bite in hopes of geting an Oran Berry or a Sitrus Berry.

The boss yelped as the Joltik bit into his back, twirling around to try and get the electric bug off of his back, but was once again knocked off his feet by the Minciccno's Echoed Voice. However, Rayo, being directly on the Honchkrow's back, would also be hit by the attack. Thankfully, Rayo was able to take an Oran berry from the Honchkrow.

Oswald sprinted forward, getting underneath the Honchkrow as it flew through the air, and used a swift attack on the bird, the spray of stars striking the massive crow's stomach and juggling him further into the air.

Vanilla watched the bird flying away. She noticed that Rayo was still on the bird, and gasped. "He's still flying! And Rayo is still on his back!" She shouted. Vanilla debated on what her next move should be. Considering Rayo had been struck by the Echoed voice attack as well, it wasn't the best choice. "Well, it's worth a try!" Vanilla said and reached for her pouch. She whipped out a Gravelrock and threw it at the bird, hoping it would hit and at least slow down the bulky Pokemon.

Prima could only watch as the bird took off and fumbled through the air after an attack. She realized she only had her non ranged attacks and wouldn't be able to reach him. Prima struggled to her feet and scratched away at the webs keeping her secure on the branch. She inched her way down the tree as fast as she could and ran over to Vanilla and Oswald. The Minccino was looking somewhat beat up, despite not being heavily affected by the Ominous Wind attacks. Prima thought for a moment on what she could do to even reach the Honchkrow. It's pointless! I don't know any ranged attacks! I can't attack it at all now!

Rayo hing on for his life as the Honchkrow started to spin. He got nicked by the Echo voice. "Van, Prima! Take this!" he called out tossing them the Oran Berry. "Prima try to ue Growl again!" the Joltik shouted.

Oswald watched as Rayo tossed the Oran berry over to Vanilla and Prima, throwing them in chunks as he and the Honchkrow started to descend towards the ground, the latter of the two unfurlling his wings and stopping his spin, so as to land on his back and try to body slam Rayo into the ground.

The Mienfoo sprinted to catch up with the massive bird, raising his paws as he caught the massive body, gritting his teeth as his opponent simply flopped on top of him, putting all of his weight onto Oswald.

Vanilla caught the half of the berry and ate it quickly. She swallowed the whole thing, feeling her energy returned and her pain vanish away as soon as she ate it. Running to where Oswald had caught up with the bird and was just barely holding it up. She quickly slid under, reached for Rayo, and yanked him off the Hochkrow's back. "You're not getting out of this battle that easily." She said with a smirk and placed him on her head. Vanilla backed away and jumped up to Tail Slap the Honchkrow hard in the stomach five times as her Technician skill activated.

Rayo let Van pick him up and place him on her head. "Thank's for the lift Van. Electro Ball!" the Joltik shouted shooting the Electro Ball at the massive bird Pokemon.

Oswald groaned as the Honchkrow was pounded against him time and time again, making it harder and harder for the Mienfoo to keep the large bird from crushing him. Once Oswald stopped feeling the added force against him, he used all of his strength to throw the Honchkrow up just high enough for the smaller fighting type to roll out from underneath him, barely avoiding any additional damage the Electro Ball's electric current might have caused to him.

The Honchkrow coughed, barely conscious and now unable to move due to his injuries. Oswald, now with a sense of accomplishment, walked over and took the ribbon off the Honchkrow's "hat", before kicking him in the side for good measure.

"Prima, you can come down now!" Oswald called up to the Purrloin, walking over to the tree she was sitting in.

With a somewhat embarrassed look on her face, Vanilla uttered a few words. "Ooops.. Forgot Oswald was under there..." She said and flinched as she wondered how much the double attacks hurt. "Sorry about that Oswald!" She said walking over. She glanced at the tree, wondering where all the other Murkrow were and why they hadn't come out to help their boss. She shrugged as she watched him take the ribbon off the large bird. "So who's stooped low now dear?" She asked with a smirk on her face at the Honchkrow laying injured on the ground. She glanced again at the tree he had been staying in, debating on how well guarded any treasure he had would be.

Prima climbed down after she had managed to eat the whole berry, unused to eating at as fast a pace as the other two. She scaled down the tree with a faster speed. With her wounds healed she felt more energized and put her claws away as she ran up to Oswald. "My ribbon!" She exclaimed as she reached out for it with a paw.

Rayo focused his attention to the Murkrow in the tree. "Why didn't yo guys help your boss?! You had us outnumbered! You are nothing but cowards!" he shouted at the bird Pokemon. He turned his attention to Van, "Van haven't you caused enough trouble?" he asked her.

The Murkrow squaked angrily at Rayo and the others, telling them of how they weren't allowed to fight with the boss, and how they were the cowards for fighting him four on one. The Honchkrow coughed loudly, silencing the murder of Murkrow as they awaited their leader to speak.

The Honchkrow slowly sat upright, his feather's all ruffled, blood seeping slighly from his beak as he stated, "It's alright lads, they beat me fair and square...you may take the ribbon and one of my treasures, if you wish. It seems I underestimated you all, and now I must pay for it in full. Now, if you will excuse me, I must rest and recouperate..."

With that, the Honchkrow began to Rest, falling onto his back, a white glow surrounding him as his wounds began to heal themselves whilst he slept.

"What an odd bird..." Oswald stated, tilting his head in confusion before handing off the ribbon to Prima and thus fulfilling his mission.

Vanilla gave Rayo an annoyed look. "What? We won fair and square. You heard him. We get to keep ALL that treasure. Let's at least go look. We have permission after all... Besides, think of all the ribbons he'll have... Maybe they'll be some blue ones, oh and some red ones too!" She said as she turned to the apple tree. "Besides... I'd like to get a closer look at this apple tree. Maybe... It's not so dead like Oswald said. Maybe it just needs to rest for a while before it can grow more apples." Vanilla said suddenly. Her own words surprised even herself at that moment.

Prima took the ribbon excitedly and placed it in her bag. She carefully made sure it was closed and bounced about for a moment or two in happiness. "Yes! Thank you Oswald! And thank you... Rayo and Vanilla." She added in at the last moment. "I guess outlaws have some good in them too." She murmured as she watched the Minccino facing the tree.

"Van he said ONE tresure let's see what he has first." Rayo said to the Minnccino. he got off her head and went to inspect the Honchkrow's nest.

Oswald watched as the duo went over to inspect the Honchkrow's treasures, and chuckled a little at their banter. It was funny, seeing them act like this, like friends. Oswald returned his attention to Prima, a knowing look on his face, "You should probably use your badge to get back to the guild, The last thing you want is another pokemon snatching your Ribbon, right?"

Inside of a hole within the tree sat what appeared to be 2 green gummies, a trio of Blast Seeds, and, which sat upon all of these tiny things, a shiny red apple, fresh from the very tree that it had spawned from.

Climbing up the tree, she poked around until she found the hidden store of treasure. Vanilla sighed at the little bit of treasure he had. "That's IT? Where are the ribbons? The scarves? The, the.. The piles of coins! What kind of Honchkrow nest is this?" She said and held out her paws in exasperation. "Argh! I was hoping for something good! At least a ribbon..." She made a pouting face.

Prima nodded at Oswald. "Thanks again!" She said and held her badge up. A beam of light came down, brightening the area around the two Pokemon a bit as Prima vanished back to the Guild. She felt her paws on the soft soil of the entrance and she walked into the guild with a sigh. "It's been a long day." She said, but smiled as she felt she had accomplished getting her ribbon back.

"Well what did you expect from a Honchkrow? We could use the Blast seeds some time." Rayo said grabbing one of the seeds putting it in his hat.

Oswald shook his head, walking over to the tree that he remembered so fondly, the tree that seemingly every pokemon would come to for shelter, nourishment, and just a place to congregate and talk. But then, things changed, and the once beautiful tree was now left like this, a shadow of it's former self. Oswald only hoped that the tree would make a quick recovery, as he gently placed a paw on the cool stump of the tree.

"Eh..." Vanilla said, still unimpressed by the Honchkrow's tiny hoard of treasure. She quietly picked up the shiny red apple, turning it over in her paws. It was a bright shade of red, fresh, and an unusual sight in a tree like this. She thought for a moment and popped out of the small area the treasure was stored in. "Hey Oswald. Here." She said and tossed the apple down to him. "It may be the last apple from this tree for all we know. But if it's going to be taken, it might as well be given to someone who deserves it." She said with a casual shrug.

Hmm. Better take the other two. Rayo thought as he took the other two Blast Seeds. He got out of the nest and saw that Van was already on the ground, "Van wait for me!!" he shouted.

Oswald jumped a little, grabbing the apple gently before inspecting it. It certainly seemed fresh, and, hopefully, there would be some seeds inside that Oswald could plant somewhere, make more apple trees to make up for the one that the forest might have lost.

"Thanks Vanilla, I'm going to head out now. Try not to cause too much trouble, alright?" Oswald suggested, pulling out his guild badge and then vanishing in a golden ray of light.

Vanilla nodded at the Mienfoo. "See ya." She said and waited for Rayo. She decided to leave the Grass Gummis, they weren't her type of Gummi anyways. "Come on Rayo, let's get out of here before those Murkrow get all riled up. Or that Honchkrow might wake up." Vanilla said while waiting for the Joltik. She was feeling a little worn out anyways and wanted to take a nap.

Rayo was already on the ground, "Yeah, yeah I'm coming." he said tierdly. Slowly he crawled on top of Van's head. "Let's get out of here."
