Magic RP: The Parker/Harkness Stoy

Mia walked along the streets she had called home since she was four, since she had been abandoned there. With her was her little sister Iruu. They were just out to take a walk and enjoy the scenery.

"Nature... yes." she replied smiling. She knew everything about her own powers. All the ins and outs...the pros and cons...Everything.
"Its... In a word. Amazing! You can feel all of the life around you... The plants.. the insects. Nature is a wonderful thing, but i fear that most people just take it for granted..... When you can control the element of Nature... you get a taste of just how beautiful the world really is. How full of life it is.. even when it seems like you're alone."

"How awesome!!!!" Mia said excitedly. "It's sorta like that for me, but what I feel is the qi, or the flow of the power everything. By following and condensing that flow...." Mia cupped her right hand and a ball of light formed in it. "I can do something like this, or......" she released the ball of light and extended her left hand twoards a patch of shadows. The shadows bended and drew her into them, rendering her invisible. "...I can do something like this." she said. "I don't know everything about my powers because I don't have all the materials available to me, and they always seem to grow and change and evolve as I do. It's like when one door opens, there's a million more waiting for me!" she laughed.

Lauren laughed with her before falling silent all of a sudden. "What I don't understand is why some people seek to destroy us magicians... Why cant we all live side by side.. in peace?"

The magician sighed and concentrated on the image of a small grey tabby kitten. Out of boredom, she made the image scamper around near the pond.

"I agree with you completely. There are so many good magicians who want to help people!" she said with growing passion. "But, there are always those magicians who would use their powers for their own selfish purposes. Do you know about the philosophy of legalism?" Mia asked.

Lauren nodded to answer the question, and continued to use her hand movements to control the cat. It looked so real and moved so gracefully, as if it was dancing.

"I suppose you could compare it to that. Human nature does have some evil deep down inside. It all depends on whether you submit to it or not. And the good people often get caught up in the mix as well." Mia said, mesmerized by the kitten.

Lauren nodded again before putting forward her own opinion, "Humans are not separated into good and bad because everyone's actions can be interpreted differently."

The grey kitten stopped to 'drink' by the pond, delicately lapping at the water with its tiny tongue. Lauren seemed to create the image easily.. even managing to include the little details of rippling and splashing water . She smiled to herself. Little bits of practicing like this were what helped her improve.

"Impressive work!" Mia said, amazed at how lifelike the illusion was. She kept watching, the things she had just said spinning through her head.

"Thankyou." smiled Lauren as the kitten changed into a bird. The bird looked like a tiny version of Hæwen as it fluttered over the pond, its reflection, crystal clear in the water, matching the birds movements perfectly.

"Mia....chan?" Iruu mumbled sleepily, eyes blinking sleepily, a drowsy look on the young childs face. She yawned and sat up, letting the rays of sun warm her face. She felt different somehow. More intelligent. Able to understand more things. She supposed this was because all of Iris's wisdom had become hers as well.

"Good morning sleepy face!" Mia laughed. She patted her sisters head. "Did you sleep well?" she asked warmly.

Lauren laughed and the bird she had created fluttered over to Iruu and landed on the grass next to her.

"Mhm" Iruu nodded lazily, smiling widely as the bird lit down next to her. With a wave of her hand, Iris was enveloped in a beam of light, becoming the jade earrings that Iruu wore. With a furrowing of her brow, her own small chickadee was formed next to Lauren's bird. Weaving the illusion with all her might, she twitched her fingers slightly. The birds feathers rustle and it cocked its head. A chirrup came out of its mouth.

Lauren smiled at the Chickadee and began to use her hand movements to compose a beautiful melody. The miniature version of Hæwen began to sing its song, gracefully taking to the air once more and almost 'dancing' to its own tune. It wove its way through the air as if it were a leaf, just fallen from a tree in fall.

Mia watched quietly so not to disturb the little performance that went on before her eyes. She gazed at the lifelike illusions with a happy twinkle in her eye.

Iruu wasn't going to be outmatched. Iris smirked in her earring form(lolol) and aided in her magicians effort. The Chickadee fluttered its wings experimentally. It slowly made it's way into the sky, grabbing onto a burst of air and unfolded it's wings to glide. Iruu let out a puff of air. "Phewy" she grinned

Lauren laughed, "If you use hand movements to control the image, its less mind work and makes it easier for you to concentrate on getting the image perfect."
The blue feathered bird flew high in the air and folded its wings in, twisting as it dived back downwards. It then spread its wings just before it hit the ground and soared back upwards into the blue of the sky.

Mia still watched closely, absorbing their motions and observing the result. Although she herself was a manipulator, she still liked to observe the other magic types.

Iruu listened to the advice with wide eyes. "Okay! Ready Iris?" She inquired, her rper now too lazy to replace the r's with w's. The brown haired girl flicked her finger upward, The bird splaying out its wing feathers and cork-screwing upwards. "Aaand Down" She pulled her hand down, a bit too quickly, for when she had been aiming to go down then back up so the bird's talons skimmed the water, the Chickadee was dunked completely under. "Err...Oops!"

Lauren smiled, "Its okay. Just drop the illusion and try again."
Because the dunk in the water hadn't been intended, there wouldn't have been a splash.
Lauren made her own bird gently land next to Iruu. She knew the feeling its feathers would have because she'd felt Haewen's before now. She controlled the bird to rub its feathered head against Iruu's leg, controlling the exact sensations that the young girl would feel.

It wasn't long before Mia herself started to play with her powers. She sat up, put her left hand on the ground and her right overtop of it, and closed her eyes. There was a flash of light and the ground in front of her hand began to glow. From that area sprouted a beautiful bid house that looked like a scale-model of a treehouse. The attention to detail was very precise, and Mia scooted back a little bit to admire her work.

Iruu grinned at her sisters work, trilling happily as the bird rubbed against her knee. "How do you make it do that!?" She asked eagerly. This time, she formed something a bit harder. Bit by bit a gray furred animal stood before her. It let out a haunting howl, its fur making the noise Iruu assumed it would, the howl coming from Iris's memory. As the wolf tilted its head back to howl once more, Iruu flicked her finger up gently to cause this motion.

"You have to concentrate on the exact feeling that you want others to feel. Its quite a complicated process and takes longer to figure out that normal illusions."
With a flick of Lauren's wrist, the blue feathered bird hopped up onto Iruu's knee. Lauren concentrated on the feeling that the bird's tiny feet would have.

Closing her eyes again, Mia transformed the birdhouse into a brown teddybear with a red ribbon around it's neck. It was super furry and plush.

Iruu giggled at the little bird then picked it up and set it down, feeling nothing between her fingers. She raced over to the teddy bear and glomped it. Now sitting, teddy bear in lap, Iruu moved her fingers along the ground as if they were a pair of legs. The Wolf padded, a bit unsteadily at first but then stronger, around the pond.
