Rai vs a captain...er....arrancar? can we just do this friggin battle already? XD

Rai sat at the top of Mt. Koifushi in Rukongai as he waited for Yamamoto and the three other captains to come. He was sitting in the jinzen position with his zanpakutou, Burakkuraitoningu, stabbed into the ground in front of him. Every now and then a lightning bolt from the black sky above would come down with the rain and strike his sword, though he never opened his eyes or showed any sign of shock or distress at the loud crackling and bright flashes the lightning made.

The feather drifted close and closer to Rai. Shizu continued to look indifferent to everyone and everything.

Rai waited for the feather to come near.

In the blink of an eye, the feather was suddenly not as harmless as it appeared to be. It acted like a blade, zooming in to scratch Rai's face from it's close position.

Rai grabbed the feather-blade and crushed it in his hand. He used shunpo to appear in front of Shizu and punched her to the ground.

Shizu's expression remained as emotionless as ever as she used Sonído to dodge the punch. She raised her hand, this time a small cluster of black feathers formed, heading straight for Rai.

Rai pointed his sword at the feathers and a large lightning bolt erupted from his sword and engulfed them.

Shizu seemed to ignore the now destroyed weapons as she dropped her left arm, and raised her right, creating another cluster of feathers. The soft, downy looking feathers almost seemed to dance through the air as they wove the wind through their fingertips.

Rai became encased in lightning and moed quicker than shunpo. He appeared behind Shizu and slashed one of his swords across her back.

Shizu didn't bother to move. The feathers we're already there. One twitching fingertip and they stood as a barricade between the blade and her body. As the feathers began to disperse again, Shizu once again used Sonído to escape.

Rai quickly followed Shizu and grabbed her by her face.

Despite everything, Shizu's eyes and expression still managed to stay emotionless. She raised both hands and from her close range, attacked Raitoningu with hundreds of tiny, black, but razor sharp, feather blades.

Rai smirked as his armor protected him from the feathers. He tightened his grip and shizu's face and slammed her into the ground.

The arrancar ignored the pain, as she seemed to ignore every other feeling and emotion. The feathers swirled around them both...

Rai narrowed his eyes and had a huge lightning bolt engulf both of them.

"Yami wa tsuki no shuraudo," she whispered, drawing the zanpakuto that was concealed beneath her trench coat, "Sairento... Yozora"
In the light of the bolt of lightning, Shizu transformed into her released form. She suddenly became a large but lithe black dragon, many times bigger than Raitoningu himself.

Escaping from his grasp, she soared up into the sky. Though the storm was Rai's domain, that alone wasn't enough to stop her. She glared at him with new light in her now golden eyes. Shizu flicked her long tail and sent another wave of bladed feathers towards the soul reaper, knowing that they wouldn't affect him much, if at all.

Rai watched the arrancar and made the motion of sighing, though no sound emanated from him. He disappeared in a flash of lightning and appeared directly in front of Shizu. "Zappukurōsutoraiku," is all he was able to say in an ominous voice. In a flash the entire area above Mt. Koifushi was enveloped in a maple leaf shape formed of pure electricity.

Shizu managed to protect herself from the bulk of the attack with her many feather blades, which had formed a kind of shield around her. But they soon fell apart again and the arrancar decided that enough was enough. She knew she wasn't as strong as any of the espada and she was a fool to try and win a losing battle.
In one swift and quick movement, Shizu distanced herself from Rai and resealed her true form and abilities into her zanpakuto before opening a Garganta. She stepped into it and it began to close again.

Rai pointed his sword at the garganta. A large lightning bolt erupted from his sword and engulfed the arrancar's right arm.

Shizu shot a glare at Rai, once again protecting herself with the feathers, warding off most of the attack. Her hardened arrancar skin as a result of compressed spiritual power, prevented a further amount of damage, but not all. Her arm wasn't useless, but it would take some time to heal.
The garganta closed completely and the arrancar made her way back towards Las Noches.

Captain Hitsugaya and Captain Unohana were still stood with Byakuya and the Head Captain, watching the battle with the arrancar conclude.

Yamamoto nodded his approvel if we had more like him the Soul Society would be a thousand times stronger He thought to himself he had not seen such talent since Byakuya was a boy.
Byakuya didn't show anything he didn't look impressed nor disappointed he kept himself blank.
Yamamoto clapped loudly so Raitoningu would hear and return down towards them.

Rai looked over to the captains when he hard the clap and used shunpo to get to them quickly.

" You may release your Bankia." Yamamoto allowed.

Rai nodded as the armor turned into electricity and disappeared into his zanpakutou.

"Congratulations." smiled Unohana as Rai reappeared near them.

" Yes from this day forward you are a caption!" Yamamoto congratulated also. " Your new captain's haori will be delievered to your barracks and you should attend the captains meeting tomarrow. "
" Try not to disappoint." Byakuya said and left.
