Rai vs a captain...er....arrancar? can we just do this friggin battle already? XD

Rai sat at the top of Mt. Koifushi in Rukongai as he waited for Yamamoto and the three other captains to come. He was sitting in the jinzen position with his zanpakutou, Burakkuraitoningu, stabbed into the ground in front of him. Every now and then a lightning bolt from the black sky above would come down with the rain and strike his sword, though he never opened his eyes or showed any sign of shock or distress at the loud crackling and bright flashes the lightning made.

Yamamoto the head captain walked in threw the trees and looked at the perhaps new captain. His wooden sheath splashed in the wet earth. He watched him closely as he entered in.
Byakuya Kuchiki entered behind he stood straight his foot steps light they made no sound even on the wet ground. He looked at Yobidashi with piercing judging eyes that seemed to expect failure he took a place standing next to Yamamoto a few feet away.

The Captains of the Fourth and Tenth Divisions also followed the Head Captain through the trees. As they arrived where Rai was performing jinzen, they seemed to both silently watch him communicate with his zanpakuto. A good first impression indeed, as Rai wasn't just wasting the time away as he waited for the captains to show.

Rai opened his eyes and looked at the four captains in front of him, "Captain-Commander Yamamoto, Captain Kuchiki, Captain Unohana, Captain Histugaya."

Byakuya acknowledged his greeting with a nod. "Yobidashi."
The Captain Commander pounds his staff commanding full attention " As you know the Soul Society is not in the most powerful times with three captain's seats empty it is of the up most importence to find suitable replacements." He clears his throat. " Raitoningu Yobidashi you have gained the power of bankia and wish to become captain of squad five show us if you are truely adept."

Captain Unohana and Captain Hitsugaya both nodded as Raitoningu acknowledged their presence, and though Toshiro continued his look of cold seriousness throughout, Retsu smiled warmly at the shinigami.

Rai nodded and stood up. He grabbed the hilts of his zanpakutou and pulled them out of the ground. "Bankai," he all he said as a large lightning bolt engulfed him from above. When the lightning disappeared he was in full black body armor. Under his helmet his eyes glowed a soulless blue and his sword had pulsing sections of the same color. He stood as tall as Komamura.

Byakuya inspected him quickly observing the bankia in every aspect he found it distasteful that it was swords again it reminded him of Ichiago Kurosaki. " Seems he can at least summon Bankia."
" Yes." Yamamoto agreed.
" But can he keep it up in combat?" The captain posed the question.

Unohana watched intently, though silently, as Raitoningu activated his bankai. The captain's gentle smile didn't falter as she examined whether or not the prospective captain could keep it up.

Rai looked at the other captains. Sadly he couldn't speak in his bankai form so he couldn't protest at how things were turning out.

" Perhaps another time you two could spar." Yamamoto concluded. " We'll let him keep it up just a little bit longer then we shall pass him any objections."
Byakuya stayed silent.

"As long as he can keep it up in the heat of battle, I don't think I have any objections."
Toshiro's joined in on Byakuya's and the Head Captain's conversation. His teal eyes didn't seem to find any faults with the display of Rai's bankai.

Unohana nodded in agreement.

Rai watched the captains talked and rested one of his swords on his shoulder.

" Alright then one moment longer Yobidashi and you will become captain." Yamamoto congratulated and Byakuya made a move to leave.

Toshiro and Unohana ignored Byakuya's move to leave and continued watching Rai, knowing that every second counts.


Not far away in the forest, a young looking Arrancar watched Rai and the captains from afar. Her bright blue eyes stood out against her jet black hair, and the identically coloured scarf that covered her mouth and neck. She had been carefully hiding her spiritual pressure the entire time, drawing ever closer the the group, but the rest of her clothing could not be mistaken for anything else... it was obvious she was an arrancar. You could tell from just one glance.

Rai sensed the arrancar closing in on them thanks to his zanpakutou's ability to sense electrical impulses, the one thing not even a soul could hide without dying itself. Narrowing his eyes he used the storm's power to have a lightning bolt strike very close to the arrancar.

Yamamoto looked at Yobidashi. " Are you losing control?" He asked.
Byakuya made a move for his sword but decided against it.

Shizu calmly stood still as the lightning struck near her. The end of her scarf blew in the storm's wind, but apart from that... she was like a statue, or an ominous, silent presence stood in the trees.

Toshiro and Unohana turned to see where the lightning had struck and both captains noticed the young girl in the trees, but could feel no spiritual pressure....

Rai shook his head at Yamamoto's question and turned toward the direction of Shizu.

Yamamoto glared in the direction of the arrencar.
" Maybe we will gte to see if he is skilled enough to use his bankia." Byakuya commented and stuck around.

The Arrancar blinked innocently as she watched the captains all turn towards her.

Rai narrowed his eyes, he focused on the arrancar's electrical impulses to tell what she would do.

Byakuya and Yamamoto watch hands ready to draw there swords at sign of trouble.

Shizu didn't move a muscle, save for one tiny flick of her finger. A single black feather gracefully floated down from the sky above Rai. The winds from the storm blew it around a bit, but it kept coming back towards Raitoningu.

Rai smirked and hefted his sword off of his shoulder.
