Lost and Alone

The black wolf pup cowered under the remains of a bush, her fur singed in places from the fire she had miraculously managed to escape. She needed something to eat, some water to drink. She was weak from the smoke and fumes and was rapidly fading. She just hoped someone would find her in time...

Kyro thought for a moment. "Well there were lots of other wolves here the other day...Do you think we could track their scent? Most wolves wouldn't run out tiny cubs"

"We could try...." she smiled, glad that they at least had something to aim for, rather than just wandering around.

Kyro got up to his paws, tilting his head upward and inhaling. He stood there for a few minutes. "Whats that stench?"

"I dont know..." replied Nightspirit, wandering over to Kyro and inhaling the same scents.

Kyro's grey head tilted a bit to the side. "Hmph. W-Well i suppose we c-could...check it out?" he was obviously waking up a bit more, his shy antics kicking up again.

The black furred wolf pup nodded. She was quite curious as to what it was too. "This way then.... I guess." she said quietly, as she followed the scent.

A growl erupted from the bushes. Fur was flying and there were various barks and whimpers. "Fight?" Kyro suggested quietly, pulling himself closer to the ground and looking as helpless as possible which wasn't hard because he pretty much always looked that way

Nightspirit blinked and suddenly shrank back. She wanted to run.. but the fight piqued her curiosity. What was going on?
Instead, she just stood and stared through the branches of the bushes that separated the two pups from the scene.

Teilu growled ferociously, nipping at the random wolf who doesnt exist's paws. "Out of my territory low life!" she spat, her russet fur puffing up as she snarled and sneered. The coal black random wolf whimpered and crawled backwards on his stomach out of the territory. She let out a howl of victory, stopping abruptly as she noticed the fear scent of two young pups.

Kyro felt her gaze bore into him. He stifled a whimper and crawled backwards.

Nightspirit followed Kyro's example and shrunk back under Teilu's gaze. She wondered who this wolf was and what her motivations were.

Teilu pushed aside the brush that the pups were hiding behind, sniffing them cautiously. "Why are you here little ones?"

"W-we're..." she started but then stopped. Though they had been searching for someone to help them.. she didn't really know what this wolfs motives were...

"Go on" The Russet furred wolf sat down, her eyes growing gentle. "It's alright."
Kyro shivered a bit beneath her stare. "W-we...w-w-we...we need a place to call home. The fire destroyed...everything..." He whimpered

"W-what he said......" she confirmed quietly. She wasn't really any good at talking to wolves she didn't know.

Teilu looked at the two cubs with sad eyes. "You may stay with my and my friend for a while until you find a permanent home or decide what you wish to do." She barked softly after a moment.
Kyro cowered at her feet, letting off soft growls of sympathy. "Thank you.."

"T-thank... you..."
The black furred pup didn't seem to relax at all, but managed to get some words out: "W-whats your name....?"

"I'm Teilu, young one." The russet furred wolf spoke softly. "There is no need for either of you to be so scared. I promise you, know self-respecting wolf would harm a cub, even if it belonged to a rival group."
Kyro tried to relax but felt his fur continue bristling. He just bent his head in acknowledgement

Nightspirit nodded and took a few deep breaths, trying to calm her nerves.
