Forest of the Dead

The jet black dragon awoke extremely early in the morning. Jason was still asleep, but she thought thtat he'd be safe for now, since this part of the forest was practically empty apart from themselves.
She got to her feet and stretched before padding away into the forest.

The forest was an eerie place and wherever she stepped, there seemed to be fog just ahead, swirling around her feet. The trees didnt seem to move. They were completely still. Silent. Dead. Not even the small breeze ruffled the leaves. It was as if this part of the forest was frozen in time, though that was near enough impossible.

Scythetail spread her wings and flew up into one off the tall pines. From there, she could see more of the forest.

"Hiya!" A cheery voice broke the still air of the forest. A creamy colored she kit fluttered near by, her pure white feathered wings making nary a sound.

"Hello..." replied Scythetail, unsure what to make of this new Zenar. Being almost completely black in colour, she blended in well with the darkness of the forest.

"I'm Iris. A Tenshineko if you will" She grinned, her rper taking Neko's name because of what it means XDD. "And you are?" she landed on the tree, settling into a comfortable position.

"Scythetail." she replied, "Though the humans called me Stormageddon."
The jet black dragon flicked her bladed tail from side to side as she spoke.

"Humans!?" Iris let out an indignant hiss. "I could get someone to help you! We could break you out of there!" she urged

"Oh no, no. Im fine now. We escaped." she replied calmly. She continued to flick her tail, the pale blue stone that was tied just under the blade, caught the moonlight every so often, along with the blade itself, sending small reflections across the forest.

"What do you mean? If you still belong to the humans you aren't free! And what do you mean we?" Iris tilted her head in confusion.

"Jason... He helped me escape. He's the only reason im not still in a cage right this second. He understands me."
She tried to clarify as best as she could.. but it didnt seem to be working.
"Not all humans are bad... or evil, you know."

"I dont know about that" Iris meowed doubtfully. "But as long as you like the life you live i suppose its alright. I will never submit to a human." she vowed, head held high in defiance

"If there is a human in this world destined for you to bond with, you cannot escape it, Iris." she replied. "Even if you act defiant now, nature will change your mind."

"I don't want to" she whispered. "I don't want to!" Her meow was stronger this time, a rustle in the leaves a strange phenomenon in the dead silent wood. Clenching the branch with her claws she let out a mighty yowl "I DON'T WANT TO!" The tree shook violently in the kit's fury, wind rocking and swaying the whole forest

Scythetail closed her eyes. A pale blue aura like substance seemed to surround her as she used her psychic powers to stop the powerful winds from ripping the forest apart.

The psychic waves seemed to calm the she-kit. She crumpled, clutching onto the branch and shivering violently. "When will I learn" she whispered to herself, chiding herself inwardly

"Only time will tell." replied Scythetail, spreading her huge, feathered black wings.
"Why dont we fly?" she asked, eager to be back in the air.

Iris lifted her head. "O-Okay" She spread her wings, hardly flapping them at all and shooting into the air. She twirled around in the air, the warm up drafts comforting her.

Scythetail grinned and shot after her. The speedy, streamiled dragon swiftly caught up, and overtook the young kit, soraing into the sky.

Aligning her wings perfectly for the best speed, Iris shot through the sky, giving a little flap every so often. The soft rustle of feather against feather could be heard

Despite their large size, Scythetail's wings were as silent as a barn owls. They only made a noise when she wanted to intimidate someone or something and she flapped them at certain angles. The black dragon span and twisted in the air as she rose higher. She used the aura-like substance that surrounded her whenever she used her psychic abilities, to create a dazzling spectacle of blue light.
