Renee lay in bed. She had just woken and it was fairly early. She sat up in her bed and glanced out of the window. The walla of Renee's room were a pale blue colour and there was a wooden desk in one corner. Her bedsheets and pillows we're checkered with blue and white. She sighed and got out of bed, wondering if Arika was awake yet. Knowing her partner though, she'd have to go and wake her. Renee quickly got changed out of her checkered pyjamas, into the dress she normally wore. She slipped her shoes on, deciding to leave her hair down for today, then went to wake Arika.

"i'm a sword, well two swords actually. i have a chain that connects both of my swords. are you a meister?" Zero asked.

"Scythe Meister" she repeated

Renee listened to the conversation. Both of them seemed keen to start battling stuff.

"Heh. Wonder where the teachers are? I'll bet their scared of how awesome i am" she grinned, slightly acting a bit like Blackstar thought she wasnt meant to XD

"nice, the genuine article. i haven't seen a scythe in a while." zero commented, looking at renee.

"She isnt just going to sprout a blade and scream 'imma scythe!'" Arika guffawed.

Renee almost laughed at that, and contemplated doing it, just to see what happened. She finally decided not to and continued to listen to the conversation.

"Aww c'mon Renee that was funny!" she had seen the small smile on her partners face and prodded her with her elbow.

She couldnt help herself and chuckled slightly. "I guess it was."

Zero laughed. "i guess not. but it would be better than saying nothing." noting renee's silence.

"Shes a shy little bugger" Arika ruffled the scythes hair

Renee laughed then dodged away from Arika's hand. "I'll get you back for that you know!" she grinned as she smoothed her ruffled hair.

Kura had been roaming around town. It wasn't usual ti see her around town in the morning, but she was bored The satisfying feeling of a human screaming as her foxes tore yhem apart, wouldn't be the same in he broad daylight. Her soul block was on, disguising her with soul, but now she was plain bored. What to do. She 'accidentaly' turned off the soul block, revealing her powerful witch soul.

Hijiro dropped down from the top of a rear by roof. He turned to the witch unaware of her power as he couldn't sense souls." Hi there." He waved half-heartedly. True be told this person bothered him even if he couldn't sense her soul it was still strange for her to be here.

Kura sealed back her soul's presence, noticing that the student had arrived. She looked in his direction, not uttering a single word. She hen burs into tears, and in a fake, childish voice called out,"You meanie!!" She sniffled and pouted,"S-stop scaring me like that!"

Hijiro blinked at the weird lady." Well then okay?" Hijiro walked by and headed for school." Oh." He turned his head." You shouldn't fake tears like that." The he was gone in a blur running extremely fast towards the school.

Eiji ran up the steps of the DWMA, blasting full speed into the room everyone was in. He stopped to catch his breath, near 3 students. "Hi there." he said, still catching his breath. He had thought he was missing something, and that he was late, but he was just imagining worst case scenarios.

Lord Death stood on a podium in the front of the DWMA. "is this thing on?" he said. testing the microphone "hiya everyone. welcome back old students and hello new students. today starts the next year in our fight against evil. if you are new stay out here. if you are old students returning, do whatever you like until lunch, 'cuas orientation is gonna take a while. now lets usher in a new year of classes here at the DWMA!" he said, throwing his arms up. silence. he turned to the teacher next to him. "that's your cue."

"sorry sir, the fireworks won't work. i-" BOOM. the pavement exploded from the fireworks. "too much gunpowder."
death stood up tall.

"in other news, we have openings for temporary janitors if you want to make some extra cash. the weapon-meister selection test will begin in a few minutes."

zero cringed at the explosions. Lord Death didn't seem like the kind of guy to be put in a bad mood by misfiring fireworks.

Hijiro watched the start of the Death speaking from the enterence behind the gates to DWMA."Damn it I can't just take my seat when death is speaking." Hijiro bit the inside of his cheek but then he saw the fireworks fail and bolted quickly to a open seat before Death could even say "in other news."

Renee silently watched the speech. She winced when the fireworks exploaded the pavement, but quickly recovered.

Eijo jumped when the fireworks went off, slightly shocked. He quickly sat back down, and tried to listen to Lord Death's speach.

"alright new students. come up to one of the marked benches, except bench numbers 1 and 8, which happened to be destroyed and receive a soul evaluation. you will be handed a name tag with a number, that is your soul frequency, red paper for weapons and blue for miesters. head towards the bench with your number and take until lunch to find the weapon or meister you want to be partnered with. we will have training exercises set up for you to test your combat strength among other things. now i have to go, there is something i need to do, sorry duty calls! bye!" death said, walking into the DWMA.

Zero went up to a booth and had a teacher look at him through a strange contraption. he was handed a slip with the number 7 written on it. he pinned it to his jacket and walked towards booth 7.

Renee wondered if she and Arika needed to go through this proces.. since they already knew that they would be pair up with each other. She looked to her partner as if to ask.

Mae walked up to the teacher with the strange machine. She waited to see what happened, and happened to notice that it had a smudge. She was about to take out a wipe, but tried to hold her impulses back.

Kura stayed where she sat, plotting. The first person she had encountered seemed not to be interested in her. She decided to go wandering around the town again, her soul block now back on.

Arika shrugged. "Lets go get our numbers anyway." She went up to the teacher. "We're already partners but give us a paper anyway" she jerked her thumb towards Renee as she said 'partners'
