The Treecreeper

Katana stood outside the forest with her teammates, re-reading the notice she had pulled of the bulletin board yesterday:

Please Help!! There is a pokemon terrorizing the forest!
He attacks, knocks you out and steals your stuff before you can even blink. The residents of Shadowhue nicknamed him The Treecreeper, but no one knows his real name or species!

Client: Leavanny
Objective: Bring down The Treecreeper before he can cause more trouble
Rating: uh.. Hard? XDD
Dungeon: Shadowhue Forest
Reward: TM False Swipe, Reviver Seed, Defence Scarf, Pecha Scarf + 400poke

Jake was up front, with a Treasure Bag ready with useful items, scarf pulled tightly around his neck, and his shell sharpened to boot. he looked at his team, and saw that they were ready. "OK, ready guys?" he asked cheerfully. Earlier in the morning, he had read a book on leadership, and he learned that the best way to lead, is to be positive, and optimistic even in dire situations.

Nate followed up behind the two, looking around the forest to make sure nothing popped out at them. "Yeah, I'm ready!" he said to Jake, smiling. He walked up to Katana and read the note while she was holding it. "The Treecreeper, huh?" he said, looking over the note. It would probably be up in the trees, I guess. Nate thought, still keeping a lookout around them.

Katana glanced around as she followed Jake and Nate into the forest. She kept her senses sharp because, after all, you never know when an outlaw will strike.

After what seemed like ages of walking, Jake froze. We're being watched, he thought, senses alert. He looked around. Front, no, Back? he turned around, and saw only his teammates. Down? No, above? before he even looked up a shower ofmissile-like glowing spikes rained down upon the trio. Luckily, the Oshawott had used Water Gun, and spun to create a barrier of water to defend. Then, three Cacneas and one Cacturne jumped down onto the ground, snickering.

Nate hadn't noticed the needles untill Jake had made the water barrier. He looked and saw the cacnea and cacturne, and used a thundershock on one of the cacnea. "Thanks for the shielding, Jake." Nate said, thankfull that Jake was there with them. We could have been knocked out right there. We need to be more carefull... he thought.

Katana had managed to knock away a few of the needles with her scythes before Jake created the barrier of water around them. She silently nodded her thanks to the Oshawott as the flurry of needles suddenly stopped.

The group of Pokemon then launched their next attack. The two Cacturne moved in from the left and right, with Needle Arm. Their arms flashed white, then glowed a bright green, as the needles grew longer and sharper. Then, the three Cacneas each hurled a ball of sand like grenades at the team, which then blew up into a massive sandstorm.

Jake's eyes flashed green, and then he jumped right over the attacking Cacturnes' arms, then somersaulted. As he landed on the ground, he saw the three balls of sand. He fired a Water Gun at one, which dissipated, but the other two were hurled upon his two teammates. The Oshawott moved in for the attack, expertly slashing with his Razor Shell. Two Cacneas were slapped away, but the other one was able to blast Jake away with an unexpected Bullet Seed.

Nate ducked and rolled out of the way of the cacturne, and managed to stumble out of the way of the sand ball, but got hit by the tip of the blast. He used a thundershock on one of the cacnea Jake had knocked away with his razor shell.

Katana used Protect to defend herself from the ball of sand. She then used Air Slash, attempting to damage the Cacturne rom afar.

One of the Cacnea easily deflected the bolt of lightning with another Sandstorm, before rolling to absorb most of the ground impact. The other one took the ground blow, before jumping up and spinning, sending Pin Missiles flying in every direction. The Cacturne ducked, then smashed into the Scyther, with the other one sliding, and then uppercutting.

Jake was thrown into a tree. Recovering quickly, he barely dodged the next volley of seeds before launching a counterattack. He ran at the Cacnea who had attacked him with Bullet Seed, blasting a jet of water, and under the water spout, he created an Air Slash, forming a whirlpool at the last minute.

The Cacnea was caught in the whirlpool, spinning around and around. The whirlpool had blocked most of the spikes, with the Oshawott blocking the rest with his shell.

Nate ran towards a tree for cover from the pin missiles flying at all of them. Noting that his electric attacks were being deflected easily, he ran towards one of the cacnea and attempted to use slam on it.

Katana took her chance after being slammed into by the Cacturne, to use X-Scissor at close range. She used the same attack to block the second Cacturne's uppercut...

The first Cacturne ducked just in time, and had pulled his comrade away from the slicing attack. Then, in unison, they jumped up and fired a volley of Bullet Seeds at the lone Scyther.

The Cacnea was slammed against a tree, but quickly retaliated, his arm glowing green and swirling, before it slammed the arm into the Pikachu's face. The other Cacnea wasn't so lucky. It was quickly knocked out as it fell to the ground, but the third Cacnea got revenge for her defeated friend. She jumped, and spun around again, using Sandstorm this time, with sand whirling in all directions.

Jake was pleased with himself for defeating one of them, but was easily blown away by the Sandstorm after letting his guard down. He was thrust into a nearby tree, and was held there for some time.

Katana crossed her scythe blades to form a temporary defence from the Bullet Seeds. Once the volley ended, she used Air Slash again.

Nate found himself flung into the air by the attack. He tried to gain some balance, and started to fall back down. As he was falling, he used a thundershock on the same cacnea as some cover, and used a slam attack as he was falling down powered by the momentum.

The Cacnea was defended easily from the lightning. Then, the second one, had fired a Bullet Seed at the Pikachu from above. The Cacnea using Sandstorm stopped, then fired a Pin Missile from all directions of the Pikachu, leaving no escape.

Jake recovered a bit from the blast and ran towards Nate to try and rescue him, but it was too late. He couldn't save him, but the Oshawott at least fired a Water Gun at the Cacnea who had used Water Gun, causing her to fall down.

The two Cacturne ducked to avoid the Air Slash, then fired another volley of seeds, this time from the right and left of the Scyther.

The Scyther used Protect to stop the Bullet Seeds from hitting her. After they stopped the attack, she let the Protect go and used X-Scissor again, taking on the Cacturne on her left with her scythes.

ooc: I'll edit my post if I guessed wrong, but which cacnea? None of them used water gun.

Nate was hit by the Bullet Seed, and grabbed the cacnea that Jake had hit with a Water Gun and tried to hide behind it to make it take some of the Pin Missiles. Nate was still hit by most of them, and backed away, hurt by the barrage of attacks.

OOC: Sorry about that. I meant to type in Bullet Seed. xD

IC: Jake ran over to Nate to help him, but he was blocked by a barricade of Pin Missiles, and as a result, was thrown onto the ground. Then, a volley of Bullet Seeds began to rain down on him. Jake had just barely managed to dodge it in time using Detect. Quickly, he slashed the air, sending a wave of slicing wind towards the Cacnea, blasting it into a nearby tree and knocking it out.

The Cacnea who had taken his partner's moves, grew furious. He spun around, and then battered the Pikachu with Drain Punches, fueled by pure anger and frustration.

The Cacturne was slashed by the X-Scissor, and due to the strength of it, he crumpled down onto the ground, defeated. His partner jumped back, and fired a volley of Bullet Seeds as he ran forward with a Needle Arm.

The Bullet Seeds took Katana by surprise as the defeated pokemon crumped to the floor. She withstood them then used her Night Slash attack to counter the Needle Arm. She used her scythe's like swords, blocking and parrying whenever the Cacturne swiped at her again.

Nate tried to back away, and was hit by some of the attacks. He used a slam attack on the cacnea in an attempt to get some time to recover. He backed away again, getting ready for the next attack.

The Cacnea easily countered the Slam attack with a Drain Punch, absorbing the Pikachu's energy in the process. The Pikachu backed away in an attempt to get ready, but the Cacnea wouldn't let him go so easily. He spun around, shooting Pin Missiles everywhere, most heading in all directions of the Pikachu.

Jake was about to aid Nate, but was struck with the Pin Missiles, barely blocking them with his scalchop. However, he was pushed back more, groaning as he realized that. The otter Pokemon shot a spout of water towards the Cacnea, but it was broken by a volley of Pin Missiles, which struck the Oshawott and sent him flying into another tree.

The Cacturne also parried, blocked and attacked. Both Pokemon were fighting an endless battle of....swordplay? (xD) The Cacturne then leaped back, splitting into copies of himself. Each doppelganger created a ball of shadows, but only one was real, and unbeknownst to the Scyther, he was hidden in one of the trees above. Then, at the same time, they shot out their attacks.And also, they kept repeating the Shadow Balls.

Nate stumbled his way to cover, loosing energy, and got behind a tree, getting hit by some of the pin missiles. This isn't working. he thought to himself, before trying to think. He came out, and used a Volt Tackle on the cacnea that kept pushing Jake away, in an attempt to help Jake get closer to the enemies.
