Awakening and Immortality

An hour after Derek got back from the final test mission with Juliet and Adam, he was still in the control room with Chronos. "So how did everyone do?" Chronos asked.

Derek let out a sigh, "They all did pretty good," he said, "Jo and Riley had a tough time with their mission. But I think they will still be on board. And on that last mission my age might have slipped out of the bag a bit early, but they were going to learn it anyway so that wasn't a problem. But otherwise, everyone passed I'd say." he said.

"Well alright then," Chronos said, "Lets call them down here." He then pressed the button for the intercom, "If everyone could please come down to the control room." he said.

"And now we wait," Derek said.

Riley smiled widely as she observed the scene that now surrounded them. She turned in a slow circle in order to view the scenery from all angles. Once she had stopped, she too noticed the mountain in the distance. Although she was vaguely dreading the walk up there, she knew that this was no time to complain so she followed without a sound.

"Now I know you may be tempted to stop and look around, but resist that." Derek said, "We didn't travel into the past, we basically traveled into another dimension." he said as he watched the sky, "And time flows differently here, so you don't want to waste any time, cause you never know how much time you've wasted until you get back to our dimension." he explained.

"Wow....A whole other dimension."
Josephine's voice was rather quiet as she processed this revelation. She wondered how much time had passed in their own dimension already, but she didn't stop walking. It wasn't a fast pace, but it wasn't a slow one either so they couldn't have been in much of a hurry to get back.
