A search for a successful mission.

Nate stood by the boards, examining the jobs listed on it. He wasn't sure which one to pick for him and his partner, so he kept looking. He finally decided on one of the jobs he noticed on the Outlaw Bulletin Board.

Client: Zangoose
Objective: Apprehend Seviper
Place: Shadowhue Forest
Difficulty: A
Reward: 1 Sitrus Berry + 550 Poke



The job seemed simple enough, although it was A ranked in difficulty, but it was just a Seviper. Nate had become confident that this job would be one that he and his partner would be able to complete.

Jake braced himself for the impact of the Bite attack, but it was intercepted by Katana and Nate, and the Oshawott decided to finish it. He breathed in, and blew out a forceful jet of water from his mouth, striking the Mightyena head-on. he hoped to knock it out so they could get a move on.

The Mightyena seemed to realize that she was fighting a losing battle and quickly changed her strategy. She leaped past the exploration team and quickly picked up her baby by the scruff of his neck. With another quick movement she bounded off into the bushes.

Katana kept her scythes raised and ready to attack as the Mightyena did this. But as she dashed away into the undergrowth with what was left of her strength she put them down. Sighing in relief she turned to her teammates, "Should we move on then?"

Nate watched as the mightyena picked her baby up, and ran off. He also let out a sigh of relief, and almost missed what Katana had said. "Yeah, I'm fine with moving forward if you all are. We should really find that Seviper." He replied to Katana, and also looked towards Jake for approval of the plan.

As the Mightyena picked up her pup and bounded into the bushes, Jake watched carefully, and then relaxed when she left. "Yeah. Let's go. Seviper could be leaving the area as we speak." he replied, brushing off the dust from his scalchop before walking off into the depths of the wood.

Katana nodded, following her teammates on foot. She kept her scythes poised and ready in case of a surprise attack. The Scyther was no fool when it came to dungeons that was for sure.

Nate followed along with Jake and Katana, noticing Katana readying her scythes just in case of an attack. Nate decided to charge up an electric attack just to make sure he was also ready for anything. He kept an eye out in the woods, looking for any signs of the Seviper and listening for any movement besides wild pokemon and his team.

OOC: Finally, you've got this going again!

IC: Jake readied his scalchop in case of an attack. His two teammates were both preparing for attack causing a lot of tension. Jake was trying very hard not to jump at every little noise from the trees and bushes.

The silence between the team was starting to bug Katana and despite her wariness about being attacked she lowered her scythes and tried to strike up a conversation with them.
"I guess this Seviper is a bit more slippery than we thought." she joked, trying to ease the tension in the air.

Nate smirked a bit after hearing Katana, and it did actually help ease some of the tensions. "Yeah, I guess so." He said, and continued to look around for any signs of the Seviper or other wild pokemon. "Well, he has to be here somewhere." He added.

"Well, yeah. It is a snake, after all." Jake replied, giggling. He scanned around, looking for any signs of movement. "Come on, how hard is it to find a snake?" he groaned. Soon enough, there was a loud rustle in the tree nearby. Leaves rained slowly onto the ground as the tree rustled.

All of a sudden, the Seviper in question burst out of the bushes. It's jaws were parted in a loud hiss and it's tail was poised for a Poison Tail attack.

Katana stopped chuckling at her own joke to raise her sycthes again in defense.

"Apparently not too hard." Nate replied to Jake's comment, and quickly sent out a thundershock attack in the Seviper's direction, not wanting to let it attack first.

Jake jumped as the Seviper struck from the bushes. He used a Water Gun to the Seviper's face, and prepared for a follow-up attack.

Katana used Protect, stopping the Poison Tail whilst her teammates attacked from the front.

The Seviper's jaws closed and he spat out what remained of Jake's Water Gun. He had taken some damage form both attacks, but wasn't about to lose this battle yet. It then parted it's jaws again, Screeching loudly before it attempted to Bite Nate.

Nate jumped back, barely dodging the attack and falling down in the process. He quickly sent out a thunderwave attack in hopes of paralyzing the outlaw, and got back up.

Jake cringed at the loud screech, and covered his ears. The Seviper bit at Nate but missed narrowly. Jake couldn't do anything as his ears were still ringing and stinging.

The Seviper was quickly paralyzed and fell to the ground, sparks leaping off of its leathery skin as it slowly attempted to get back up.

Katana quickly jumped in, using X-Scissor on the Seviper before it had much chance to retaliate.

Nate dashed in towards the Seviper, using a Slam attack on it. He looked over to Jake after, and asked "Are you alright?", even though he knew that if his ears were still ringing then he probably wouldn't hear Nate.

Jake quickly recovered, but not in time to hear Nate. He brought out his scalchop, and charged a Razor Shell, and jumped into the air. He somersaulted, and brought down the blade onto the Seviper while it was still grounded.

The Seviper was being quickly defeated, much to his own surprise. The attacks from this exploration team just kept coming and there was almost nothing he could do to avoid them due to his paralysis. However, after taking the next onslaught of attacks, he raised his tail once more, this time aiming for Katana as she dived in for an Air Slash attack.

The Scyther blocked the Poison Tail with her scythes, stopping most of the damage. however the poison leaking from the blade on Seviper's tail was soon going to infect her if she didn't do something.

Nate had quickly backed up after his attack to see Jake recover and Katana attack. He smirked, knowing that Jake was alright, and turned his attention back to the Seviper. He once again used a Slam attack, trying to get the Seviper a little bit further away from Katana so hopefully she might not be poisoned.

Jake saw Katana in the way of the attack, and took action. The Oshawott swiped his scalchop in a vertical line, sending a wave of cutting wind at the Seviper. However, he adjusted the aim, so that it hit the Seviper's middle section, so as to avoid hitting Nate.

The Seviper hissed at the team as he was prevented from finishing his Poison Tail attack. Katana sighed in relief knowing how close she had come to being infected.

The Scyther shook those thoughts away and focused another Air Slash attack. There wasn't much fight left in the Seviper, but the whole team needed this over.

Backing away from the Seviper after his slam attack, Nate attacked again, this time with a thundershock attack to try and finish things up. He also did a quick check on how his other teamates were doing, and saw that they seemed to be fine.

Once finishing off his Air Slash attack, Jake jumped into the air and somersaulted, while at the same time pulling out his scalchop. Holding up into the air, he used Razor Shell, and slashed downwards, trying to strike the Seviper at its head.
