A search for a successful mission.

Nate stood by the boards, examining the jobs listed on it. He wasn't sure which one to pick for him and his partner, so he kept looking. He finally decided on one of the jobs he noticed on the Outlaw Bulletin Board.

Client: Zangoose
Objective: Apprehend Seviper
Place: Shadowhue Forest
Difficulty: A
Reward: 1 Sitrus Berry + 550 Poke



The job seemed simple enough, although it was A ranked in difficulty, but it was just a Seviper. Nate had become confident that this job would be one that he and his partner would be able to complete.

Jake strolled down the stairs to the Bulletin Board area, and spotted a pair of yellow ears, and got closer, recognizing it as his partner and friend, Nate. "Hey, what 're you doing? Found a job for us to complete?" he was confident in their ability to complete a mission, but he couldn't help but mentally admit that they had only completed one of their three missions. It was as if Fate had looked down on them and decided to put some major misfortune upon them. Anyhow, he had to be confident and assured, because he was leader.

A Scyther wandered out of the Mess Hall. She was seemingly not paying much attention to anything until she spotted her teammates near the Bulletin Board.
Katana made her way towards the board, noticing that Nate had found a mission.
"Whats this one about then?" she asked, almost casually.
Despite their recent failures, Katana was always optimistic when it came to new jobs.

Nate turned around, and noticed his two partners, Jake and Katana. "Hey! And yeah, I think I found us another job for us to do." he said in reply to them, passing them the paper with the mission on it. "It is A ranked, but I'm sure that we can manage it." he continued.

"OK then. We're all ready, I suppose?" Jake said. "Then, let's hurry on and go to complete this mission. If it's just a Seviper, I'm sure we can handle it." and with that, he went right back up the stairs to exit the Guild, leading the way to Shadowhue Forest. If they completed this mission, it should prove to be a good accomplishment.

OOC: Let's just stay on this topic for the mission, okay?

Katana nodded and swiftly followed the team leader on foot. Though she enjoyed flying she realized that she would eventually end up straining her wings if she did it all the time. After all a Scyther's wings were made for short bursts of speed, not continuous flight.

"Ok then." Nate replied to Jake, and followed him and Katana out of the guild. Nate wondered how the mission would go this time, since they hadn't had much luck yet with completing missions. He dismissed any thoughts on failure though, believing that they would be able to complete this mission.

Within a few hours, the trio reached the forest, and without hesitation, Jake led the way in, hopping over and twisting and turning and maneuvering around the multiple thorns that tangled and wrapped around each other. The trees and leaves blocked out the sun, making the forest a dark, sickly green. Descriptions aside, the Oshawott headed deeper in, staying on guard for any wild Pokemon that might attack.

Katana was well suited to life in the forest. The occasional branch that stuck out, getting in her way she would swiftly and silently chop off with her scythes. Some flying type pokemon would no doubt be able to use the wood for a nest or similar purpose.

All of a sudden a Poochyena burst out from one of the nearby bushes. It had its teeth bared as if it was angry at the explorers' intrusion.

Nate had been walking with the group, looking around for any wild pokemon. The forest was slightly dark, making him more cautious of the surroundings. When the poochyena jumped out, he started preparing an electrical attack for when, or if it attacked.

Jake kept walking, and abruptly stopped when a dark shape jumped out of the bushes, revealing itself to be a Poochyena. He readied his scalchop for an attack, and awaited the dog Pokemon's first move.

OOC: Laurel, you RP the Poochyena. Please?

The Poochyena immediately went in for the attack, its jaws opening as it prepared to Bite Nate.

Nate backed up, and stepped to the side, getting out of the way of the attack. He immediately retaliated with a thundershock attack, hoping to hit the poochyena with the lightning.

As Nate retaliated with Thundershock, Jake came in with an Air Slash, sending a wave of sharp wind at the Poochyena. he felt it best to attack from long-range, due to the Thundershock possibly electrocuting him and leaving him paralyzed. He could practically feel deja vu.

The Thundershock hit and paralyzed the Poochyena, however due to it's ability, Quick Feet, this only served to increase the Bite Pokemon's speed and he easily dodged the Air Slash.

Katana went in with an Air Slash of her own, but the Poochyena once again dodged using his speed and used Sand-Attack, kicking the soft earth into the Scyther's face, impairing her sight.

As the poochyena used the sand attack on Katana, Nate ran towards it, and used a slam attack, trying to hit it while it was busy kicking up the dirt.

Jake was almost tempted to rush in to attack, but first, helped Katana remove the sand by squirting a small jet of water into her eyes, cleansing it of the sand. Then, he quickly aided Nate by grabbing his scalchop and rushed in for the Razor Shell attack, skillfully wielding his weapon. He slashed at the Poochyena's legs swiftly, and then the right flank.

Katana shook her head of the water after it cleared her sand-filled eyes. With a quick nod of thanks to Jake, she re-assessed the situation.

The Poochyena was quickly loosing, first being hit by Nate's Slam and then it's legs being slashed by Jake's Razor Shell. The Scyther decided to try and finish thing up with a quick X-Scissor.

Leaping into the air, she drew in close and then performed the move exceptionally gracefully for her species. The Poochyena seemed to run out of luck and was easily knocked out after taking so much damage.

Katana landed and prepared to celebrate a small victory for their team but then heard a growl coming from the nearby bushes...

Nate backed away from the poochyena after the attack. He smirked, and started to say something when he heard the growl from the bushes. He looked towards the bush, and prepared himself in case of an attack from that direction.

Jake brushed a bead of sweat from his forehead, and rubbed his scalchop clean, before he heard a growl from the bushes. He wielded his weapon, and braced himself for an attack. When nothing came out for a while, he went on and fired a Water Gun at the bushes, trying to bring the enemy out.

A Mightyena burst out of the bushes, seemingly even more angry from the water that had just soaked its fur. It let out a loud roar before it turned to attack Jake for using Water Gun on her. She opened her jaws and prepared a bite attack.

Nate jumped back slightly when the Mightyena jumped out. That figures... Nate thought, seeing that the poochyena hadn't been alone, and had a probably tougher mother with it. He also noticed that the Mightyena was going in for a bite attack towards Jake. Nate ran towards Jake, and pushed him, hopefully out of the way, befire turning back around and attempting a thundershock on the Mightyena.

Jake was ready for the Bite Attack, but before he could make a move, Nate pushed him out of the way and attempted a Thundershock. Jake landed on his feet, and worried that the Thunder shock wouldn't be enough, and sprayed a Water Gun at the Mightyena's whole body, soaking it wet. The Oshawott hoped that the water would help the electricity along.

The Mightyena was hit directly with both attacks, the water slightly amplifying the effect of Nate's Thundershock. However, she seemed to try and ignore the damage she was taking, attempting to get that Bite move in while she could.

However, it was not to be as Katana flew in, blocking the dog-like pokemon's fangs with her long scythes, the tips of which started to glow pale blue in colour. Katana leaped up and sliced the Mightyena, using X-Scissor.

Nate prepared himself for the bite attack, not sure if it was directed towards Jake or himself. He then saw Katana come in with an x-scissor, and attempted a slam attack towards the Mightyena. Nate did feel bad about having to attack the Mightyena though, since she was only protecting the young poochyena who had attacked them.
