The huntresses meet

Yuki had broken into a gas station to refill her humvee and replenish her food and drinks only a few minutes ago, but zombies were already a few feet away as she finished filling up her vehicle. Knowing they'd jam up her humvee if she tried plowing through them she began to cut them down as quickly as she could with her swords. It wasn't a large horde, but unlike them she had a limit and the fighting she did early that day had already worn her down.

A Peregrine Falcon was hovering in the air above the gas station. She seemed to be almost watching what was going on below, as if trying to choose a perfect moment to strike. Her head made short jerky movements of most birds, as she changed which zombie she was observing. Finally her beady black gaze rested on Yuki.

Yuki jumped up over a zombie and slashed another across the head. She quickly spun with her swords held outwards to cut a number of other zombies to shreds. She was panting and sweating from all the exertion but pressed on anyways.

The peregrine seemed to notice Yuki's fatigue, but she kept her place in the sky. At least, that was, until one of the zombie seemed to get behind Yuki and made to bite her.
The falcon made her move. She dived and swooped towards the zombie with a short but piercing screech, extending her talons and digging them into the zombie's head.

Yuki's shock at the bird's sudden appearance caught her off guard for a split second, though that wasn't enough for her to get attacked, as she quickly pulled out her desert eagle pistol and began firing at the zombies.

After dealing with the zombie that had been trying to bite Yuki, the peregrine began attacking the other zombies, clawing and pecking at them. She mostly aimed for their heads, since any lower and she would be at a disadvantage.

Yuki made sure to not shoot near the falcon as she fired shot after shoot and slashed any zombies that got to close. The entire time she had been slowly backing up to her humvee, when she got close enough she whistled and opened the door.

The peregrine falcon heard the whistle and turned to look at Yuki as she opened the door to her vehicle. With another few pecks the bird swooped over to the humvee. She was curious as to how Yuki had managed to survive with the zombies all over the place.

Yuki hopped into the humvee and waved the bird inside as she started the engine.

The falcon seemed to blink and cock her head to the side at Yuki's gesture, before flying into the humvee and neatly landing inside the vehicle.

Yuki closed the door and floored the gas pedal. The humvee slammed countless zombies into the air and onto the pavement as it sped away from the gas station.

The bird shifted uncomfortably and ruffled her feathers every so often whilst Yuki drove through the zombies and away from the gas station. She had never been inside a human vehicle before and though she greatly appreciated the slight protection it would give her from the zombies, the peregrine falcon would prefer to be outside, feeling the air rush through her feathers.

Yuki glanced over at the falcon and smiled slightly, "Thanks back there, if you didn't show up it would've been the end of me," she said facing the road again.

The peregrine just cocked her head to the side and ruffled her feathers again. She then made a few small, short and fairly quiet screeches as if to acknowledge Yuki's gratitude.

Yuki laughed quietly to herself, "So how would you like to travel with me? I'm hoping to find a place free of those things, when I do i'll be sure to fortify it then go out and find survivor," she said as if she were talking to another human.

The peregrine stayed silent this time. She blinked, her head angling from side to side in the jerky movements of all birds. It was almost like the bird was giving Yuki a questioning look, wondering why she was speaking as if she was another human.

Yuki chuckled, "Guess I sound crazy right now," she said.

The peregrine made another few short and quiet screeches that made it sound almost as though she was chuckling. She soon became silent again though and partially spread her wings as she attempted to move herself into a more comfortable position.

Yuki looked at the bird again and stopped the humvee in a street with no zombies around that she could see. She pulled some clothes of hers out of a bag in the back of the humvee and made a makeshift nest out of them then set it in the seat by her, "There," she said smiling.

The peregrine watched as Yuki created the nest. She looked at it curiously, before hopping into it and fluffing up her feathers. The bird was careful to make sure that her talons didn't tear the clothing that made up the nest and she seemed to be a lot more comfortable and relaxed.

Yuki smiled. "Better?"

Jill had been trying to figure out where she should go to find things to help. She had decided the gas station would be a good start, and she could find a vehicle their. As she ran down the road, slicing into any zombies she saw, she saw the headlights of a humvee. When she noticed that, a zombie jumped out at her. She gasped, and stumbled to avoid it, and fell into the road in front of the humvee.

The bird made another short call as if to say 'Yes' before she ruffled her feathers again and shut her eyes.

She blinked them open a few seconds later to see another human falling into the road. The peregrine spread her wings in a panic, leaping out of the makeshift nest and awkwardly flapping around on the seat. She had screeched rather loudly this time. If she had been human, no doubt it would have been the equivalent to something such as yelling 'Stop.' Or maybe just screaming....

Yuki made a sharp turn and stopped only inches away form the woman, "What the hell!?! Are you crazy!?!" she yelled.

Jill promptly ignored Yuki, and pulled out her machete and stabbed the zombie that had scared her into the road in it's head. "Well, what would you pick? Eaten by a zombie, or hit by a car?" she asked, looking at the girl.
