dream catch

[hope i'm not god modding too much or at all here]
As promised, Arowena had kept Solis good company, coming over every other day or so, excluding her missions and her frequent out of town-ness. Solis didn't mind much, he had a friend who kept him company. Today he decided that he would treat himself and Arrow with a lunch at the famous cafe. He was looking over the menu. He hadn't had a good wine in a while, maybe he would stop by later that evening and request a glass or two. Maybe even a bottle to take home.
He had been sitting about five minutes when he put the menu down. To be honest he wasn't feeling up to making his own meal today and he wanted to keep from worrying Arrow. Solis noted that Arrow wasn't there. He started to get a little bit worried. He put down his menu and got out his deck of cards to play a game of solitaire. And waited...

Arowena fluttered into the cafe and stood for a second, glancing around as she looked for the Xatu. She spotted him playing Solitaire at a table and swiftly glided over to him.
"Sorry im late Solis..." she apologized, "I got caught up showing a new team around the guild..."

"it's fine" Solis said, putting his cards away. he blinked. the world became blurry for a second. then something strange happened. something Solis hadn't have happen to him in a long time. he couldn't see the future or the past. he blinked again. "uh, please sit down. i here the food here is great." Solis tried to hide the nervousness in his voice.

The Pidgeot did just that and fluttered up onto one of the seats. "Are you alright?" she asked, the concern in her voice was evident as she thought she had detected the slightest hint of nervousness in Solis' voice.

solis was scared, very scared, he always new what was going to happen to some degree. what made that fact worse was the recession of his psychic powers. he tried to hold on. "i'm just feeling a bit drowsy. that's all." solis said. with the words out of his mouth he began to sway, his vision blurred and his mind slowing down. then all at once his powers surged and the time line burst at him from all posible angles. the thoughts of Pokemon around him his future self, his past life, all of it some of it made sense. he fell over on the floor, a wave of psychic energy leaving his body and grasping out for help. the first thing it hit, was arrow.

Solis stood in a great black plain. nothing could be seen a midst the fog. he stood still, trying to understand what was happening.

Arrow opened her beak to say something, but was soon engulfed by the wave of psychic energy. The sharp eyed bird just seemed to sit there, a blank expression in her eyes, as if she just wasn't there.

Arowena looked around and found herself in a black plain. She glanced around, wondering where she was.

Solis saw another in the thick of the fog, arrow. and just like that the fog cleared. with his mind back together Solis was able to realize he was unconscious. and dreaming. something was wrong.
"oh. no, no, no, NO!" Solis dearly hoped that arrow was just a part of the dream. but he knew she wasn't. she got trapped in his own mind with him.

"S-Solis?" chirruped Arowena, unsure of what to think of this weird place. She had spotted the Xatu and wondered if he knew where in Arceus' name they were.

"i'm really sorry arrow, that blast of energy it, it took you into my mind. that's were we are now. in a dream, however we are fully aware of ourselves meaning this is one of two things. the first is an anomaly that normally happens with drozee and hypno. it's called lucid observation dreaming. the second would be if my mind got split. on part is making the dream, and the other part is me here. in that case things could get ugly. i may lose my Sana, and you might lose your life. we have to figure out witch one it is." Solis said, rubbing his temples with his wings.

Arrow sighed, "I hope its the first then... Well.. how do we find out which one it is then?"
The Pidgeot ruffled her feathers awkwardly, not knowing what on earth to say.

the only way to tell is if i get truly shocked by this dream. that will mean i didn't come up with it and that my mind is split. we need to get moving, if it is a split mind dream we need to move through it in order to get closer to the other half of my mind. if we can fuse the two together i can get you out safely. if it is just lucid observation than we will wake up from it a little shaken, but ok." solis said. at that moment a black blob rose up out of the mirror black surface that was the ground. a white wisp appeared on it's head as red teath rose out of the black mess.
"Darkri, oh arceus." a black beam fired from the pokemon, Solis teliported in front of it and used protect. "fight him! i'll try best to cover you."

Arrow blinked at the sudden appearance of Darkrai. "Uhm.. okay..."
The Pidgeot spread her wings and took to the air, knowing that she was much more powerful from there. She used Ominous Wind from her aerial position.

darkri began to sink. solis used telekinesis to lift him up in range of the attack. "i'm sorry" Solis whispered. the attack hit. and darkri vanished.

"you will need to face me." and with that everything was quiet. solis turned around. standing there was a natu.

"why did you have to be mean to the nice Pokemon dady?" the natu said.

"that's, you're me from the past.that time in the house when i watched as my dad battled a mail carier outside my house. that was a traumatic experience." solis said. he ran towards a cave that wasn't there a second ago. "we have to get away, move!"

The Pidgeot followed Solis without question. She would rather be anywhere but here, right now.... near a Darkrai... in all honesty. She hovered in the air next to him. He knew his own mind better than she ever would.... so what would happen now?

in the darkness hung a single flickering lantern. a grey puff of cotton like matirial could be seen in a crevis behind it. "Why didn't you tell me?" the cotton said, lifting it's head up it was clear it was an altaria dirty from living in the cave. there was a black blindfold on the bird. "all the things i could have seen, all of the things i could have done, if only you had told me. you knew. i was going to be blinded and you KNEW!" the altaria lept at the sound of solis' footsteps. she crashed into him.

"No, i never meant it like that. i'm sorry. i-i didn't want to hurt you, i tried to stop it!" Solis yelled, running down the cave. it was pitch black. he couldn't move. he felt something. a wooden barrel. he leaned on it and couaght his breath.

"Who is she?" asked Arrow. She had kept silent during the conversation, not wanting to interrupt and make anything worse...

"that, was my wife. she lost her vision in an acident. i predicted it would happen, i even tried to stop it. but she found out after the acident that i didn't tell her. after that, she left me." Solis said. it was pitch black. a door opened. a grumpy looking Tyranitar was there.
"arty?" solis asked. standing next to him was a xatu. it was him from the past.

"see arty i told you they would be in here."

"i still didn't like having to stay up so late."

"i outrank you, also i'm older than you. how old are you actualy? five?"

"no... six"

Solis sat watching things unfold. this was in his days as an explorer. they were in the guild pantry.

"Wait... does this mean I can see your memories?"
Arrow felt like she was intruding all of a sudden. She didn't want to see everything in Solis' mind.

"sort of, this is a dream after all. strange things happen to memorable moments in dreams" Solis said. his past self started to talk

"shut up. wait, no i'm sorry. please let arty escort you to the jail." and just like that they were in a prison cell. Solis sat down on one of the bunks. there was nothing he could do, but just sit down and collect his thoughts.

"strange and terrible places dreams are." the jailer said, revealing himself to be the darkri from before. he was twirling a ring of keys on his fingers."sweet dreams, hahaha!" and with that they were alone.

"Now what do we do?" asked Arrow quietly. "We cant just sit here and wait for things to unfold."

"i already tried to teliport out of here. there isn't anything we can do. i'm sorry. all we can do is hope they wait out and don't try to, to..." Solis stopped. he saw a weird disk. he picked it up.
"no, i won't. i can't. never!" Solis threw the disk against the wall. it should have smashed. but it just hit the wall and fell down.

"What is it?" asked Arrow. "Surely a disk cant do anything wrong..."

"it's a TM, hyper beam. that's what darkri ment when he said i had to face him. he left that in here. he is trying to break me. how long have we been in my mind?" Solis asked. he looked trhough the bars of the cell, hoping that something would save them.

"Uhm... I don't know. It doesn't feel like long but we have no concept of day and night here, so its impossible to tell."

"normal dreams can be thought up in an instant, but for our senses to be satisfied this dream must be in real time, or possibly we are even moving slower than the outside world. after a certain amount of time the doctor or whoever is looking over us is going to try to revive us, wake us up. if that happens without me ready, you could very well die. the only way is for me to take control of the dream. however, that will surly lead to the loss of my sanity, because there is only one way out of this. and i can't do it." Solis said. he was sweating. his pupils were dilated. he didn't want to do it, but it seemed like the only way.
