Mia Goes to College

Dylan opened his eyes and looked around, unlike when he went to sleep, his room was empty. He got out of bed and grabbed his shirt, he then walked out into the hall before putting it on. When he walked into his office/kitchen he saw Mia surrounded by a mess of papers, "How long have you been up?" he asked as he started putting on his shirt.

Dylan watched Mia go over to the window, when she was standing there he got up and stood behind her. He put his arms around her waist and looked out the window with her. "This is your going to be your last look at the New York Skyline..." he said.

Mia looked sadly out the window, leaning into Dylan a little more. She didn't make a sound, she just kept watching out the window. If she weren't Mia Parker, she might have started crying; but she just kept it pent up inside. She did grab Dylan's arm and squeeze it lightly, however, to keep her mind from exploding.

Dylan was so glad that he was holding Mia. He still couldn't grasp the idea that she was going to be moving away. As an attempt to create one last moment for the two of them, he bent his head forward and started to kiss Mia on the neck.

Mia blushed happily as Dylan bent over and kissed her. She knew that she would at least always have him to stand by her when she need him, and that thought helped her calm her nerves a bit. She sighed again, only this time it was happy sigh. She carefully turned around in his arms and reached up to wrap her arms around his neck; pulling his face a little closer so to kiss him.

When Mia started to kiss Dylan he pulled her tighter. After kissing her for a bit, Dylan reached down and grabbed Mia's shirt. He then slowly started to lift it up.

Mia felt her shirt being lifted and pulled Dylan a little closer, pressing herself closer to him as she did. She was still a little nervous, it was nothing like four months ago when she had no clue what was going on. She was even a little comforted to know that, even though she was going away, Dylan still felt the same about her.

-Later-

Mia blinked blinked and tried to catch her breath, once again finding herself wrapped up in top sheets. She heard the breathing of someone extremely close by her, or even right next to her....

Dylan was right next to Mia and was also gasping for breath, "So..." he said in between breaths, "Hows that for a goodbye present?" he joked, still gasping for breath.

"I did.... Enjoy it....." Mia gasped with a small smile, her face a reddish color that wasn't totally because she blushing as she rolled over to face him.

"It really sucks," he gasped looking up at the ceiling, "This is... our last time for awhile..." he said turning his gaze to face Mia, as he reached and grabbed one of her hands.

Mia took one more deep breath and exhaled, then squeezed the the hand that Dylan had grasped hers with, then got a little closer and wrapped her free arm around his neck and pressed her face int his neck; their situation sinking in and tears she didn't want Dylan to see forming in her eyes.

Dylan could feel tears coming from Mia's eyes when she pulled herself closer. He then let her hand go and pulled her closer. He wrapped his arms around her and didn't say a thing. He couldn't think of anything to say and he was worried if he tried to say something he wouldn't be able to control himself.

Mia tried her best to fight all her feelings back, but once the tears started falling it was hard to stop them. She knew she needed to be at the airport soon, but she wasn't ready to leave just yet. "Not now....." she thought, but she knew she would have to go regardless.....

Dylan was doing his best to fight back tears, "Come on," he said, "...We need to get you to the airport..."

Mia clung to Dylan a little tighter. She couldn't go now, she just couldn't. She didn't think she was even strong enough to leave New York City alone anymore.... But wait, what was she thinking? She was Mia Parker, the girl who had survived on the streets for thirteen years after four years of horrific abuse that ended when her parents took her on a taxi, told her to get out, and then never returned. She had only had one window in the room her parents generally locked her in; her only link to the outside world. She had no clue about what when on in the streets before her abandonment, yet she was strong enough to survive AND take care of Iruu when she entered the picture. So why was she not strong enough now? Or was strength even the problem? Was she using her Pride to cover something deeper up?

The next thought Mia had blew all her questions away; at least temporarily. She realized that; at that point in time, she really didn't give a damn. She really didn't. She just wanted to stay there, with Dylan, forever. But she couldn't, and it was tearing her to pieces; just like her dark personality had. She had to get an education, and she had a chance to go to a very prestigious school... But was it worth leaving for?

Mia shook away her thoughts and pried herself from Dylan, grabbing her clothers so that she could change. All the while, she kept telling herself over and over: "I'm not leaving forever. I'm only going for school; then I'll come right back." It was a feeble thought, and one of Mia's greatest fears was that nobody would be able to wait for her..... they would all change and move on...... Even...... Even Dylan might........

Mia sniffed and wiped her eyes, trying not to cry anymore.

Dylan sat up and watched Mia get dressed. No matter what he said or did, she was going to leave for LA. And no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't think of a life without her, even if it was going to be a couple months at a time. So he forced himself to get out of the bed and started to put his clothes on, he unfortunately did have to take Mia to the airport. And he knew that watching Mia walk onto that terminal was going to be the hardest moment of his life.

--Time Skip to the airport, they just made the final call for boarding Mia's flight--

Dylan couldn't get out of his seat or let go of Mia's hand. It was just to hard to do anything right now. He couldn't believe that he was at the airport, just about to watch Mia leave. He just sat there and just stared blankly out into space.

"I gotta go now......" Mia murmured depressedly, trying to force herself to not think and just go. She knew if she thought about it she might just lose it all. If she even looked Dylan straight in this face she would probably lose all control, too, so she just couldn't look directly at him.... It was all too much. She squeezed Dylan's hand so hard she was afraid she going to break it for one final time, then finally grab her things and stood up. She turned around to face Dylan directly, bit her lip, and held her breath, trying not to explode and make a scene, then leaned in and kissed him goodbye. She was tempted to just stay like that until the plane left her behind for a second, but she quickly banished that desire so that she didn't actually do it. "I love you.... So much..." Mia practically sobbed quietly before turning on her heel and walking not quite as fast as she should have been. She looked back at Dylan for a second, questioning what the hell she was doing.

"Mia wait," Dylan said. He forced himself to stand up and walked over to Mia. When he got to her and spun her around so that she was facing him. He then kissed for one last time.

Mia almost snapped and broke down when Dylan called to her and kissed her that past time. She vowed to herself in her head that she would never forget about or push contacting him aside, seeing as it was the only thing she could do now. After the kiss had ended, Mia leaned in once more and murmured, "I really, really love you..." silently into Dylan's ear, and then she begrugingly began to walk twoards the plane again, her back disapeering into a crowd of frenzied travelers. She looked back somberly one final time, and then she forced herself to move a little faster to her waiting plane, tears silently streaming down her face as she did.

"I love you too," Dylan said as Mia walked away towards the terminal. Once she was inside he walked over to one of the glass panels looking out at the runway. He then watched after a bit as the plane took off, leaving him alone in New York, and taking Mia to LA. Dylan wasn't sure when he would be seeing Mia again.

As the plane took off, Mia sat in a state of shock. She could barely even think about what she was doing as she sat in a state of overwhelming lonliness, attempting to perceive the fact that Dylan wasn't physically with her anymore. When the plane was at around 5,000 feet in the air, the situation finally sunk in totally. Mia buried her hands and her face and didn't even try to hold anything back anymore. She cried and cried until she ended up falling asleep in that pitiful state, and of course, all her dreams put her back in New York.

--A little over a month later--

Dylan walked out of the courthouse with his lawyer walking behind him. Dylan was actually wearing a suit, which was rare for him. But even he would wear a suit when going to court. As he walked out tons of news reporters with microphones and video cameras surrounded him. All of them were asking him questions on the case he was a part of. He just kept walking through them until he reached the company car. Once he got into the car he told his driver to take him home. Once the car was moving he loss ended his tie and took a heavy sigh. Law suits were always so tiring.

"ERMAHGAWD GUYS. LOOK AT WHO'S ON THE IDIOT BOX." Skylar Reed exclaimed as she entered the UCLA dorm from showering. Also in the room was her three dormmates: Rhea Feury, Kate Sterling, and Mia Parker, who always seemed to have her head in her books. When Mia had arrived, she had been really quiet; so much so that one might have even called her bitter. But after weeks of friendliness without any letup, the other three girls had been able to crack Mia open like a nut. Now they were actually sturdy friends, and Mia slowely had been confiding in them more and more.

"Will you shaddup? Mia is trying to concentrate, poor thing. She's gotta get back to her boyfriend." Rhea snapped.

"OH MY GEE, IS THAT DYLAN FROCK?!" Kate exclaimed, and at that moment all four girls were huddled in front of the tv; even Mia.

"Woah, Mia; I didn't think you were one to fangirl over boys." Rhea laughed as Mia completely abandoned her homework and stared up at the tv.

"Oh please, who DOESN'T fantasize about Dylan at one time in their life?" Kate retorted.

"You just saw Dylan Frock, CFO of Hydra Airlines, leaving the courthouse here in Downtown New York." one of the reporters said, "He just finished another day on the case where his company has been accused of insider stock trading. Before going into court here is what Mr. Frick had to say," it then cut to a clip of an interview with Dylan, "We run a clean business at Hydra," Dylan said, "We do not participate in any illegal acts. All of the statements about insider trading are false." he then walked into the court room and the broadcast went back to the reporter. "How much of this is true?" They asked, "Dylan is only twenty years old and holds a major position in the worlds leading airline, how do you think he could have gotten this position, if he doesn't do something different for the company?" they asked. It ten went back to the news anchors and they continued to talk about the case.

Mia sighed quietly as she stared up at the TV. The media was relentless. They never seemed to give Dylan a break when it came to this lawsuit nonsense. She wanted to be there physically for him so badly, and it hurt so much that she couldn't.

"Could you even begin to imagine what it would be like to be in a relationship with that guy?" Kate sighed dreamily. Rhea snorted.

"He'd probably be super busy and gone a lot of the time, but I suppose absence makes the heart grow fonder......." she stated. Rhea was the second biggest realist in the group, with Mia being the first.

"He'd always make time." Mia muttered softly, but the other girls barely heard her.

"I bet he'd be like, super conservative with his feelings. Like he'd only express his love in private." Skylar commented, batting her eyes.

"Not really." Mia murmured again.

"I bet he's amazing when it comes to the bedroom." Kate chimed in, and Rhea and Kate both agreed with devious giggles.

"You know Mia, it's not a crime to join in on the fantasizing. We can all see how longingly you're staring at the tv." Rhea commented, trying to get Mia to socialize with them.

"I just wish I could be there for him......" Mia practically whispered in response, and suddenly she had three pairs of prying eyes on her.

"Hey Mia....... About your boyfriend back home...... What would he think if he knew about you fantasizing about Dylan Frock?" Rhea questioned suspiciously.

"He'd probably be flattered......." Mia muttered, not really putting much thought into her responses.

"And...... You said your boyfriend lives in New York....... Right?" Skylar added, catching on to what Rhea was thinking.

"Uh-huh." Mia responded again.

"Who is your boyfriend, anyway?" Kate questioned, the secondmost oblivious of the group aside from Mia herself.

Dylan was stuck in the traffic of New York City, he was tired from the case and just wanted to rest. But he couldn't really do that in a car. He pulled out his phone and looked at the picture of he and Mia that was his lock screen. He considered calling her, but he figured she would be busy, so he decided to call later that night.
