Sweets and Trickery

Vanilla lazily thumped her tail against the tree trunk as she looked out at the creepy hill. Rayo hadn't been able to come along because he apparently had something to do, so she was forced to bring along Kawa the Oshawott. She eyed the Pokemon sitting below her on the ground. Kawa was a female, meaning she was competition when it came to being cute, and Vanilla didn't like competition... But a job was a job. The day was wearing on. She had recently sweet talked her Rattata friend into putting up a request on the bulletin board to deliver an Oran Berry and a Pecha Scarf to the designated area, the house up on top of the hill.

"You know the drill right Kawa..? Ambush the Pokemon and take whatever we can and go. Got it?" She said. She prayed it wouldn't be Oswald who took the mission thinking she was calling for him again. The hoo of an owl Pokemon somewhere signaled it was definitely getting late. "Though they'd better hurry it up..." She muttered.

Kawa nodded. "'Course. Don't worry, I've got this" she flashed a smirk and glanced down the ridge. "Any moment now" she muttered, paws twitching in a fleeting moment of nervousness.

Nate walked into the ridge area, coming up from the ridge. He saw the sillouette of a pokemon by a tree. That must be the client. he thought, coming up to the tree.

Vanilla's ear twitched as she heard someone approaching. Darnit! They were supposed to go further away! She frowned for a brief moment. She signaled to Kawa to get ready and watched as the silhouette of a Pikachu approached them. A Pikachu? Wasn't expecting that. How... Cute. She scrunched up her nose at the word.

Kawa twitched her ear in acknowledgement, slipping into some bushes until the optimal opportunity to strike showed itself. She crouched in the undergrowth, necklace dangling dangerously close to some twigs. Tightening the strap, she solved that issue swiftly. She noticed that she had wasted precious time and cursed herself with an inward growl.

Nate saw some movement, and the silhouette dissapeared. "Hey, wait!" he said, running up around the tree area, looking for the client. "Where are you?" he muttered under his breath.

Vanilla smirked at the clueless Pikachu. She watched as he ran around looking for Kawa. She readied herself, waiting until he paused for a second, and leapt out of the tree to try and pounce on him. She had a wicked grin on her face and signaled to Kawa to leap out.

Kawa flew out of her bush and attempted to knock the pikachu off of his feet and into Vanilla's path. As she hurtled towards the yellow pokemon, she glanced towards Vanilla to see what she was doing to ensure that she wasn't the one being leaped on.

Nate jumped back to get out of the way, still getting hit by Kawa and falling back, but out of Vanilla's way. He got off the ground and on his feet quickly.

Vanilla hit the floor and landed on all fours with a thud. And turned to face Nate. Kawa had pushed him back enough that she had a few seconds to try out one of her moves. She turned and focused all her power into... An attract attack. She winked and sent a flurry of hearts towards Nate, figuring he was male anyways by the shape of his tail.

Kawa slunk backwards, watching in what could only be described as awe at the gracefullness in the Minnicinno's movements. With a shake of her head she turned to the Pikachu, noting that he had some skill as well and shouldn't be taken lightly. Her logical way of thinking brought her to the conclusion that he was probably one of those specially trained guild pokemon.

Nate smirked, and used a thundershock attack on the stream of hearts to get rid of them, remembering the last time he got hit with an attract attack. He recognized the Minccino from the outlaw board at the guild, but couldn't recognize the Oshawott. "So, your name's Vanilla, right? You wouldn't happen to know where my client is, would you?" he said to the Minccino almost sarcastically.

Vanilla smirked. He managed to deflect the attack with an electric attack of his own. "Not bad. Not bad..." She tilted her head up, just slightly enough to almost give off a smug expression. "You're looking at her pal. So hand over the goods, or we'll take them by force." She said and stood ready to face off against the Pikachu. "And you got it, the name is Vanilla, and you won't forget it so soon after this."

Kawa somehow managed to look both menacing yet cute. Of course, being a small otter with an adorable face didn't hurt. "You're out numbered pal. Just hand over the stuff and there'll be nooo problem" the Oshawott stood in a stance so that she was able to pull off her scallop at a moments notice.

"Well, you see, I would, but just out of curiosity, why would you put up a request instead of just robbing a shop?"Nate asked, stalling to figure out a strategy. He started to build up some electricity to get ready.

Vanilla's eyelids lowered slightly, she was suspicious of his sudden want to talk. She was tempted to take the bait for a little conversation, but instead went with attacking. "Why..." She said and allowed her ears to fold up as she sucked in her breath. She let out her breath to release an Echoed Voice. "Bother?"

Kawa could feel the growing intensity of the air around the electric pokemon. His questions made her nervous. It was best to just get their things and run. Those police were mighty crafty afterall.

Nate frowned, his head hurting from the echoed voice. He sent off a thunderwave towards the Mincinno, hoping to paralyze her and twitched his ears, trying to block out the voice.

Vanilla was stationary because of the Echoed Voice she had just used, and was hit by the Thunder Wave. She felt the electricty run through her. Gah... I'm going to be paralyzed. I'll have to avoid using moves that require me to move often... She thought quickly and signaled to Kawa. "Kawa come on! You gonna lend a paw or not?" She said and sucked in her breath, readying another Echoed Voice attack.

Kawa's eyes flashed, temper rising. She pushed it away, figuring it was pointless to argue. With the flash of a paw, a Razor Shell attack was hurled at the Pikachu.

Nate noticed Vanilla's second echo voice attack, and prepared to use a thundershock on her, but was hit by Kawa's razor shell. He stumbled back a bit, and winced. He retaliated with a thundershock towards Kawa.

Vanilla rolled up her ears. She had finished prepping herself and let loose an Echoed Voice at the Pikachu. The special nature of the attack, caused it to be stronger with each use, and she was planning and taking out the Guild Member with a massive Echoed Voice if she had too. The sound wave thundered towards Nate. "Give up!" She said, completely forgetting Kawa was about to be hit by an electric attack.

Kawa was knocked aside by the fierce wave of thunder, wincing as she collided with the ground. She stood back up, shook out her fur, and growled "It's two against one! Give up!"
Knowing that a Pikachu wasn't a very heavy pokemon, the Oshawott decided against grass knot and leaped forward with a Fury Cutter attack.

Nate grabbed his ears, the echoed voice getting more painful. He looked up, and noticed Kawa coming with a fury cutter attack. He backed up, dodging the fury cutters, untill he finally was hit in the shoulder area. He winced, and backed up more, and used a thundershock on Van to try and stop the echoed voice.

Spotting her opening, Kawa dove towards Nate, scallop in hand, ready to use her Razor Shell attack. She wished good luck to Vanilla, as her only objective was to get the items.
