Soiled berries

Honey had been returning to Grassviel, her sack brimming with berries. A heavy rain had settles in, and she was now running to Wisp's shop.

Wisp had been waiting, a very large umbrella, sheltering her from the heavy rain. I swear, that lopunny is as good as a plain seed, she thought, letting out a sigh. As Honey arrived, she was out of breath,"Sorry," she said between a pant," I was taking my time, and trying to pick the ripest ones." She spilled out the contents of her drenched sack, only to find the berries squished and useless."B-but," she stuttered, picking up the berries.

"Useless!" Wisp began to throw a fit,"I knew you would come empty-handed again!" she shouted, packing up her remaining stock."Because of you, I had to sit here in the rain!"

"Oh.." She spoke almost silently,"Do you want me to help with that?" she asked, picking up a berry.
"No! I can handle it by myself!" Wisp snatched the berry and headed back to her home, dragging along a cart crammed with boxes and sacks of berries. Honey let out a sigh and sat on a bench, not caring if she got wet or not.

A cheerful looking Dragonair slithered through the town. She seemed to be almost dancing as she twirled around in the middle of the town square. To any other pokemon, it would have looked like she was crazy, but Cobalt didnt mind. She was happy.

Honey kicked at a pebble on the ground, wondering why Wisp hated her so much. She bwgan to run her hand over her ear, trying to relax.

Cobalt heard the sharp clattering of the pebble across the tiles that made up the square. She looked at the shiny Lopunny, wondering what made her kick it.
She stopped her twirling, much to her own dissapointment, but the rain was still tipping down.
She cocked her head to the side and slithered towards Honey.

Honey noticed the dragonair approaching her, and turned away. She didn't like the way she was looking at her, and began to caress her ear at a faster pace.

Cobalt blinked and returned to her normal pose. "Hello...?" she asked. She wasnt usually friendly to anyone, but she couldnt help but wonder why the Lopunny was out in the rain, when no one but her seemed to like it. She half hoped that maybe she liked the rain just like she did... but how often did that happen....

"H-hello..." she spoke quietly, not bothering to look.

"What are you doing.... out in the rain?" she asked gently.

"Nothing..just sitting.." she answered, still not looking up. Honey looked at her sack, the mush of her spoiled berries began to seep out, she dropped the sack on the ground and rested her elbows on her lap, and holding her head up with her hands.

The Dragonair slithered over to the bench and coiled up next to Honey. "No one I know likes to sit out in the rain..."

"Well, I find it to be very soothing. The pitter patter of the drops helps me forget.." She stopped talking and kicked another pebble.

"Really?" she asked, unable to believe her ears that someone finally understood the rain as she did. "I never knew anyone else thought about the rain as I did...."

"Is that why you're out here?" She questioned curiously, finally looking up.

Cobalt nodded, "After everything ive seen.. the rain is the one thing that seems to soothe my soul... calm my nerves... I always feel better about talking to other pokemon when its raining... its almost.. as if it gives me strength in some way...."

"Hm..." she watched as purple juices continued to wash out of the sack."The only thing is, I might end up catchIng a cold."

The Dragonair smiled, "I suppose thats the one good thing about being a Dragonair then..."
She glanced at the bag, "Whats in there?"

"Just some berries I was supposed to bring for Wisp's shop. Well, tbey're ruined now.." she replied, kicking the sack over so that it's co tents could empty a little faster.

"I could help you look for some more if you like..." she suggested.

"Well it's raining now, by the time we make it to Wisp's house, the berries will be soggy and ruined again." That's what had happened to her, and that's why she's sitting on the bench.

"I can make the rain stop..." replied Cobalt. "Its not a problem..."

"Really? Oh, that would be great!" She exclaimed, still wanting to show the whimsicott that ahe was useful.

The Dragonair smiled. She looked up at the sky sorrowfully, as if bidding the rain goodbye, before she discharged some of the energy that was stored in her body, via the orb on her neck. Cobalt watched as slowly but surely, the rain subsided, and the sun peeked through the clouds.

"Amazing.@ She said, feeling the warm rays of the sun heat her fur. Though it seemed a little too late, as the lopunny let out a sneeze soon after."Excuse me." she said, bringing her ears closer.

The dragonair smiled apologetically before laughing softly. "So where do you usually go to find berries?"

"I go to pecha forest, and sometimes even dungeons to find more rare kinds." She empyied the sack, the leftover mush spilling out."I'll need another bag though.." she sighed.
