A Little Snooping

The deep brown tom swiftly ran through the IvyClan territory, not really caring if he was caught. He was actually looking forward to finding someone amongst the brush. Unable to see very well from his position, he clawed his way up a tree. It was a little taller than the rest so he could see farther. With his ears perked, he simply waited on the highest branch of the tree.

Silentstep couldn't help but laugh at the reaction. She took a moment to stop her laughter before she replied.
"Actually, most IvyClan cats love the water so they'd probably have the opposite opinion to you."

"Well you all are nuts then. You can stay with your little clan and have a blast in the water then. I have better plans than catching a cough from wetting my fur in that cold water.." he said with a weird look on his face. "Water...pshh that's overrated liquid." he meowed soon after, scratching at his ear.

The pale she-cat once again tilted her head slightly to the side. "Have you even tried it?" she asked. "The best time to go swimming, or bathe is on a warmer day such as this."
Silentstep knew that some of the other clans had the same reaction when it came to discussions of swimming in the river, but she personally found it to be a rather fun activity, especially when you could just lie down in the sun afterwards and let your fur dry naturally.
Of course, she didn't have the exceptionally long fur that Wolfeye had.

Well I've fallen in a couple times..He stated in his head. After he thought about it, the ton realized that he had never really gone into water without some kind of reluctancy. He had always hated water.
"Well not exactly..." he finally responded. Suddenly, he seemed to realize something although it didn't show much. The warrior he faced was quite a looker. Her fur seemed to glisten beautifully in the bright sunshine and her eyes sparkled. The hefty tom quickly changed gears.
With a normal expression, he strode up to Silentstep."How about we forget about water for now and move on to you. I couldn't help but notice...how stunning you look in this sunlight." he let out a little smile as if it were just small talk to an acquaintance.

Silentstep was taken aback by the loner's sudden change of conversation. If cats possessed eyebrows she would have surely raised one of hers in confusion. The young warrior instantly became wary though, unsure of what was going on in Wolfeye's mind.

"Lets not...." she replied, rather unsure of what she would say anyway. No one had decided to compliment her appearance before in such an outright way.

He let out a brief sigh before continuing."But water is such a boring topic. Why not?" He didn't move and stayed just where he was. She didn't show much shock, but he knew she must have been confused even if it was in the slightest.

"Because I'd rather not." she replied, promptly closing the subject before it could even be properly opened.
"What's your name?" she asked, trying to shift the attention from herself. She didn't know what else to ask, but at a gathering when she met a new cat she always started by asking their name, something she hadn't asked this loner yet.

"Wolfeye, how about yours?" he replied. He didnt exactly think his actions through and he had failed. But getting her name would be a better start anyway.

The pale-furred warrior hesitated for a moment before replying, "Silentstep."
She wasn't entirely sure what to say next so stayed as silent as the pawsteps for which she was named.
